i say that it is too long for 2 things (i will kill anyone except you guys for the second option):

the end of the school year (for us it's May 29th)

Here, after 2 major storms(windstorm in sept. and Icestorm in jan.) moved last day of schoolin louisville kentucky to June 3rd, 2009. That is my birthday! My time of birth was around 5:30 in the afternoon. I won't let you know my age. I mostly keep my age secret :evil:

Your end of school year is not till May? We have to wait till July for goodness sake! ::) Lucky sod...... ;D

I cant wait for the new video game FUEL, which comes out May. But we all have to wait for these things...

I think my "study leave" begins mid may time just after my first exams. Dunno when actual school ends but I'd rather it didn't come so fast because I want to prepare for my GCSEs well. But after that Summer can be as loooonnnngggggg as it wants

The ending of the school year depends on when you start. If you start earlier in August, then the school year ends earlier. If you start later, then the school year ends later. I started school this year on August 18th I think, and the school year ends June 4th.

That may be correct in some US states, but not all. And certainly not over on this side of the pond. Loads of Adult education here in the UK. The government spends millions/billioms each year.

As an example, in a small (very small) place like Selsey, where I live, there are many locations with many courses:

And schooling can start at the age of 3. (Nursery school)

That's Florida's system, anyway. I'm sure many other states have a similar plan.

I never said there was no adult education, I only said college ;D.

I didn't count that young because it is called "Pre-school", so it would be considered before school, not actual school.

And here the word "Pre" comes before school meaning it is not yet school, but a system before it :P ;D. However, I do agree that pre-school does give some form of education, but not great enough to be considered real school enducation.
