Hi Mike, those are the one flag signals, I meant what was the meaning of the three flag signal. However I think you have given me the answer to my question without realising it. ;) ;) To be read as one flag signals there would have to be a tackline between each flag, or else flown on separate halyards.

One translation could be

"I wish to communicate with you."
You are running into danger."
"Stop carrying out your intentions and watch for my signals."

Or "Listen, you're heading into trouble. Stop it and follow my advice".

That's a recurring theme when I warn people that they're stepping too near to the acceptable line on the forum. The flags were just an "in joke".
