Wow, now, those boats/yachts moored up there look like proper boats

Good stuff, I'd love to go to Rotterdam one day, I've seen a deal advertised in the paper for so many days in Rotterdam, at a good price too...Might consider going!

Love the "Ostara" - my kind of boat. Last had a trip on a Spido tour boat many years ago, haven't been on any trips since they started using mostly fully enclosed vessels - don't like taking pics though windows. :(

I'm off to Northern Holland on 1st April for a few days ship photography, so may have some pics when I get back (probably 100's  ;D )

If you're a ship fan, it is a fantastic place to go. Just drive up to the waterway, get out of the car, and watch the cargoships, ferries, tugs and tankers go by. Maassluis is a very nice place to go too, a nice town down the river from Rotterdam. A good place for the classic tug enthusiasts

Great pictures Terry, hope you enjoy yourself when you get back to Rotterdam!

(Did you visit the POR  ;D )

Hi Nathan.

No, I went there to
(a) meet with Aad and his charming wife
(b) make a series of sound recordings while Dana went and bought most of Rotterdam
(c) visit friends at Vstep

Ran out of time...

I always stay right on the waterside on Willemskade. The Tulip Inn is a wonderful, friendly place. A never-ending series of vessels going past the windows. And the number 9 tram into the city.

The Ship Simulator 2006 water taxi!(first pic) Does the numbers at the end of the water taxis names mean what brand of model? So the VSTP7 is the better model of watertaxi of Rotterdam.

Is the Pilots Cetus a catamaran pilot boat?

Not sure if you can describe it as a catamaran, but it's a SWATH which stands for Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull.

As far as I know, it just means it's the sixth one in their "fleet". I assume that there is a "1", "2" and so on as well.

Sorry I missed you on Monday. I had to dash off to sort something out.

Did you see the tugs performing outside in the evening? There were several of them going up, doing three-point turns at truly amazing speeds, and so on.
