Why is it RMS Queen Mary 2 and not MS Queen Mary 2?

Why is it RMS Queen Mary 2 and not MS Queen Mary 2?

RMS is Royal Mail Steamer

MS is Mail Steamer

I guess that the QM2 still carries Mail, so has the luxury of being RMS

Looks like "Shieldhall" - originally a sludge (effluent) carrier on the Clyde. Now preserved, still in steam at Southampton.
