Hi Patrick,
You are spot on, she is "Mercedes" and she is heading up the Mersey past the Pierhead, Liverpool en route to Albert Dock. I took it, (Ithink) 2 years ago. I'm surprised one of our Dutch members didn't spot her.
Your picture has me lost, by the twin bow thrusters and the high foc's'le I guess she is a rig supply ship, but beyond that, no idea.

Angus.

As it's over 2 hours and I won't be back on until tomorrow evening I'll put you out of your misery

The answer is "Salvageman" and her current name is "Anglian Prince" - she is not a supply ship but a full blown salvage tug.

Here is how she looked after the drydocking and the repainting to coastguard colours

As an educated guess, she is the biggest five masted, full rigged, ship now afloat. I should say also probably the ONLY one. ;D

That's right. Seems like you're a shipspotting expert - always answering the hard ones.  :)

;D you could say that, been a ship photographer since 1982!

Ok, heres one that could be easy.... if you know your ships!

Argonaut

Argonaut was previously the yacht Orion, built in 1929. She later sailed as Regina Maris before being scrapped in 2003.

the question was who built it and when so I'll give you 50% as well (when will folks learn to read the question  ::)  ;D )

Builder was Friedr. Krupp Germaniawerft A.G. at Kiel.
