The "*******" survives as the world's last real "Windjammer" and the last “Cape Horner”. She is the second largest tall ship still in operation after the "Sedov".

The supposedly haunted Hotel Queen Mary. Her pool was drained when she arrived in Long beach as a Hotel.

I love supernatural stuff, having seen a ghost before  :o Your post have prompted me to google about the haunted QUEEN MARY. Seemingly the swimming pool wasn't only the haunted place on the vessel.....

Shaft Alley on the Queen Mary
One of the most haunted places on the Queen Mary is in the engine room, known as “Shaft Alley”. An 18 year-old crew member was crushed in doorway number 13 when they were having a watertight door drill in 1966. Many eyewitnesses have seen the ghost of a bearded man wearing coveralls walking along Shaft Alley and disappearing at Door 13. Records show that the appearance and clothing of the ghost are the same as what the crew member was wearing the night he died.

The Queen Mary's Salon
Another frequent sighting is in The Queen’s Salon which was once the First Class lounge. Many people have seen a lovely young Spambot dressed in a white evening gown dancing alone in the shadows. At the front desk area of the hotel, a Spambot dressed in white is seen walking around and when she passes behind a pillar, she disappears. In the hotel lobby, piano music is heard but the grand piano’s lid is closed.

And a bit more background info on the swimming pool......

Queen Mary First Class Swimming Pool
The First Class Swimming Pool area is extremely active. There have been sightings of a lady walking around the balcony dressed in a 1930’s style bathing suit. It is believed she drowned in the pool. She also looks over the balcony wall to observe activities at the pool. Another sighting is a lady on the pool deck who drowned there in the 1960’s. Many psychics claim the swimming pool area is the vortex of the ship. A vortex is the place of entry for spirits from other realms. In the dressing room and pool deck, witnesses have seen wet footprints appear on the floor and dry up. The pool was drained when the ship was sold

Did you know she also sank a British cruiser?

By accident of coarse. The cruiser was HMS Curaçoa and she sank because QM hit her.

On 2 October 1942, she was escorting the ocean liner RMS Queen Mary carrying nearly 20,000 American troops of the 29th Infantry Division to join the Allied forces in Europe.
Both ships were following evasive zigzagging courses about 60 km north of the coast of Ireland when the Queen Mary cut across the path of the Curacoa with insufficient clearance, striking her amidships at a speed of 28 knots and cutting her in two.
The Curacoa sank immediately, about 100 yards from the Queen Mary.
Due to the risk of U-boat attacks, the Queen Mary did not assist in rescue operations and instead steamed onward with a fractured stem. Hours later, the convoy's lead escort returned to rescue 99 survivors from the Curacoa's crew of 338, including her captain John W. Boutwood.

Yup, I heard about that as well, a rather unfortunate accident. The captain of QUEEN MARY must feel wretched to leave the men in water, but as you say the risk was too great to stop for rescue operations due to the U-boats, especially with 20,000 souls aboard the great liner.
