Dream Boat
« on: March 10, 2009, 02:39:13 »

Alright I think we are all boat lovers, right? Well if you had unlimited money what kind of boat (or ship I suppose) would you buy? Give us some info (e.g. boat type, engine type, length, RPM) and a picture and post it here!

If I had unlimited money I would have a 2600ft long 26 deck high ocean liner built, complete with ridiculously luxurious suites, then sail around the world with it, along with thousands of passengers all onboard for free.  ;D

If I had unlimited mone yI'd buy this yacht. It's called Tatosh and is currently owned by a microsoft exutive. It has jet skis, a sail boat, and a motor boat onboard. it even has a place to land a helicopter!  :o I'd live on board and sail all around the world. How sweet would that be?  ;D

Viknes 1030 sunbridge is my dreamboat :)

it's a really nice a cabincruiser :)
the Viknes is handeling rough sea good, and the slogan and logo is: Viknes - Built for the North sea ;)

Shower and oven is standard equipment and follows with the boat wich costs about 200,000£ without not to much extra equipment...

They have now just come with a new 1030, 1030 Sunbridge 8)

Well, there are quite a few vessels out there, if I had the money, but I recently came across this:

http://apolloduck.net/106613

1933 Built Queen Mary.

78.8m Long
10.6m Beam
about 2.5m  (7'6'') Draft

Okay she would need a bit of restoration, have the steam engines reinstalled.

And not that expensive, £154,950, which, if you consider she is a historical steam passenger ship, over 75yrs old now. Most boats now awadays can be  priced in the millions...

Hopefully I won't be keelhauled for posting in this thread after so many days. :P

I have quite a few 'dream boats', really...If I had unlimited money, I'd probably have either the Portoferraio Angel or Marbella Delight from Ship Sim '08 New Horizons, or, possibly, buy the real life ship Balmoral, just for nostalgic value. :) I've sailed a few times on both the Balmoral and the Waverly, it'd be so cool to actually own her and take her out on day trips.   :D Since I'm just dreaming here, though...Back to navigating the seas in the Portoferraio Angel on SS08.
