a poem for JOTD
« on: March 06, 2009, 23:52:20 »

(if your wondering what JOTD stands for, it stands for Joke Of The Day)
joke of the day will make stay at bay
(or the docks)making you laugh all day
especially the ones that you think are funny.
So grab your friends and maybe even a bunny! :D
for the ones that you think aren't funny leave them be
for everyone else to see.
So enjoy the joke of the day
and have a good night :D :D

Great idea CC

Here you go:

Whenever there's a quorum,
down at the Shipsim forum,
the locals gather
where it's open slather
minus wit and sans decorum.

If subjects oceanic,
and arguments Titanic,
become too much
(even for the Dutch)
Aad the Pirate says "Don't panic!"

"Enough with all this hating,
this moronic debating,
there's a game we play
called Joke of the Day
and the rest of us are waiting."

"Come in and tell your story,
say an old chestnut hoary.
If it's not too blue,
I can guarantee you,
everlasting Shipsim glory."

How long did that take to think up? ;D

My son likes "graphic novels" (which in my day were called comic books, but apparently that's now a great insult to the fragile geniuses who create these literary masterpieces) so while he pored over the new rubbisharrivals in a shop this morning, I put together most of it in my head, then tidied it up when we got home.  There aren't too many words that rhyme with "Titanic" and "forum" so it almost wrote itself in places  :)

If you've got a sore thumb,
come to the SS Forum,
were you can talk to Terry,
who reminds me of tom and jerry

Then theres Fred,
who always makes me laugh at what he said,
and Nathan C,
who in a few months will live near me

Not forgetting Jack,
with his niceness never in lack
and Gloat,
with his evil red sailing boat,

We all love Salty Dog,
even when we cant see him in the fog,
what about Master Captain?
well for him I couldnt think of a good caption,

Then there is Diamant,
Who never says that he cant
Oh the good old TJK,
who will make great sigs all day,

Kapn Jonah, great guy,
makes me wanna eat some nice pie,
Ship Addict, fantastic bloke,
even when we cant see him in the smoke,

RMS GB,
well thats actually me,
RMS G,
a good man to be,

RMS Canada,
never been to Granada,
That CC guy,
very nice person, my my

Mr Robville, model maker,
should stick to that and not be a baker
Jensen, very cool,
unlike a dog he doesnt druel,

Look at Firestar,
full of won-dar,
and Aad,
who makes me laugh until I go mad!

Captain Mike,
whom I quite like,
and good old Jim,
what can we say about him?

theres Llamalord,
who might drive a Ford,
and MV Smith,
who might have a quiff,

Not forgetting Agent,
who won the beauty pagent,
Oh and Traddles,
with his little boat and paddles,

And theres Sad Sid,
who got in for a couple of quid,
Then theres ex skull kid now saken,
who makes me very mistaken

Dont forget Siso,
always very Nice-o,
Remember JHB,
always nice to see,

Not forgetting Captain Best,
who always adds a bit of zest,
Finally theres Ncena,
who is also nice!

And this is where,
I get a scare,
as I forgot someone Im sure,
but If I forgot you then dont be soar!

My evil red sailing boat?

I guess it was better than:

"Gloat said he had the best coat.
Arguing, we were sat in the boat.
The boat, bright red, was afloat in the moat.
Eventually, unable to resist, overboard we threw Gloat.
In a few days, Gloat will bloat,
And he will float with his coat in a moat near our boat.

Yeah, once again I was a bit struck of what to say. it was either that or Hali Berri. And you dont look anyhting like Hali Berri.

Same story for Gloat too, unless you wanted it to read:

Then theres Gloat,
Who looks like a Goat

You could have tried using my real first name, "Terence". That's much easier to rhyme.

err...  ;D
