Hi guys, My Friends of this community, I need help,

Im a member of another forum called TheFootballForum. I've been a member for about 2 and a half weeks. All was well and I was getting on with the community, when yesterday there was a problem. You see, because Im from and support Ipswich, My username is Ipswichian. So yesterday someone mistook me for being called Ian. I explained that I wasnt, and that ipswichian was like mancunian or cumbrian. So everyone started calling me Ian, which was fine, a bit of banter did me no harm. But then a admin called Forever Gold took it one too far by changing my username to Ipswich Ian. I was a bit annoyed about this, but could still see the funny side however, and I aksed them to change it back. but they didnt. As admins I expected them to ebhave more mature than this, but I was wrong. Instead, they changed my username to Norwich Ian. they changed my avatar, sig and peronal info so it looks like I support Norwich. Now for me being called a Norwich supporter is like a catholic having to watch the pope getting punched in the face. I changed my avatar, sig etc back but I couldnt change my username. So this decended into a war of avatar, sig and profile settings changing war. Then what I thought was one of my friends called Munkiki (a Norwich supporter) decided to be disgusted with me that I was a Norwich supporter pretending to be an Ipswich one. I have recieved some not very nice comments, one who even wanted me to stand on the centre circle of carrow road (Norwich Citys home stadium) and for the norwich fans to be pelted with tomatoes. People now think Im some kind of traitor to either Ipswich Town or Norwich City.

I am insulted, disgusted and amazed at some of these peoples behaviour, mainly the admin. Am I overreacting? And what should I do? I came to this communtiy because here I know I have true friends. please help.

You are right, its a very immature way to behave. Not using the power they have wisely.

As for the insults, well, they may keep firing them at you so maybe its best to delete your account and go $:-\$

Doesn't seem like a very nice place to me personally but there you go.

It was a nice place, until they took a joke way too far.

Any suggestions on how to get abck at them? Or is that just lowering myself to their level? Unless I get back at them at a far higher and superirior way to them?

I think the admin is mis-using his position..But I'm afraid there's not much you can do, except explain the situation on the forum..Who knows, maybe others have had trouble with him..Good luck..

AA: no. they wont care for that. i need something much better that will annoy them. and yet show my level of superiority.

SD: There have been admin abuse before. and i have explained the situation, they all think im overeacting.

I dont want to leave the forum though, I like it, its just 1 admin that is really being pafetic. why should I leave just ebcause of 1 admin?

Judging by some of the posts in your topic "Who played the funny prank?" they seem like a nasty bunch in my mind, espeically those admins who don't seem to care.

I don't think it will be dropped anytime soon tbh $:-\$

Not sure if the law can come into this or now, but you probably wouldn't want to go that far anyway.

Its probably best that you just delete your account, or be serious with the mand say enough is enough now. If they carry on delete your account, and if I were you, I'd stay away, but, if you really want to go back, go back with a different name.

The behaviour you are describing is clearly bullying, and appears to violate their forum rules; you could try appealing to other members of their administration team, but honestly, if they show such poor judgement when selecting administrators in the first place, you're probably on a hiding to nothing.

Why not just post a huge Ipswich banner, and underneath something like: "I don't care what anyone says, I'm an Ipswich fan"..

I understand how you feel RMSGB but I think your request is not a good one. I think the admins of this forum don't want an angry mob of football fans spewing vitriol here, and ultimately if the actions of this one admin are condoned or tolerated by the rest of their admins, then you really can't win.

Hi RMSGB.

My advice is to walk away and not lower yourself to the level of this bunch of childish thugs. Absolutely childish beyond belief!

I'm not a football supporter in any way. This just goes to convince me that I am 100% correct to look down at the ignoramouses on that forum.

Stay here, in the company of real people. By comparison, here there are men and Spambot who have risked their lives for years in the heaviest weather that the seas can throw at them. They've suffered sub-zero temperatures in incredible storms. Some of us have been manning the lifeboats in 50 foot waves in January in the pitch darkness at 2 in the morning, saving the lives of other decent humans.

Then there is a forum where a few spoilt brat childish people misbehave. Probably the most dangerous thing they've ever done is watch a football match on the TV. Or perhaps crossed the road on the way to a match. The only way they can feel superior is to put someone else down. Pathetic...

Does that put things in perspective? Hope so.
