Hi all,

Just thought i would say Hello to you all ,

I have just started today with the 2008 version and i'm really impressed with it after a few hours of finding my way about, the graphics are great as are the models, i am really pleased as one of my favorite type of ships is the Agile Solution and after downloading it i'm even more pleased,

All i have to do now is get my learning cap on and while away a few hours,

Hi Roger.

Once you've played all the in-game missions (which takes a while), you can download updated radio sound packs, new horn sounds and a considerable number of QC checked Custom Missions from the in-game menu and from teh Creators Forum (link in my signature).

That'll keep you busy for a while!

I'm really enjoyng SS, i am going though the Custom Missions for Jumbo Javelin and i am trying to do them from the bridge and the Port and Starboard views! up until yesterday i had berthed JJ from the outside views but find doing it as you would in the real world is enjoyable if not frustating at times but to me that is what simming is all about,

I spent many years in the 1970/80's crossing the channel every week on the Dover/Zeebrugge run with Townsend Thoresen when i was trucking and used to watch the berthings and we used to rate the captains on how they "parked" along side the berths in Dover,[mind you they did'nt know this]

i now have some idea as to what it takes to do it! its all taken for granted when you travel but its interesting none than less,

Just thought i would share my wafflings with you!!

When you were in a force ten or more for six hours and then layed two for a couple more in St Mary's Bay waiting to get though the hole in the wall at Dover you might as well had been a sailor!

Yes Firestar IMHO i do think SS08 is very realistic but that of course is a passengers view not from someone who drives em!! but its nice to be able to get some idea as to what it it takes to do it,

As a GOF!, old being the word ,its the graphics that knock my socks off ,really superb!

As a newbe of a couple of weeks myself i found it has everyones ship type interest, the graphics are excellent and the missions while away a few hours,

I obviously don't know your maritime interest and what you are looking for but i don't think you will be disappointed, check out the Video's that will help you,

I am sorry i don't quite understand your question,

You need a reasonable graphics card, i only have a nVidia 7600gs and i play it all maxed out with no problems if thats what you are asking, other than that give us some more info,

Bear in mind that these are the minimum. With this level of hardware, you'll probably have to set the detail quite low. Maybe not. Sometimes lower-spec PCs can give good results. But not always.
