Rachel's Challenge
« on: January 14, 2009, 21:12:26 »

This is a program about kindness, Rachel Joy Scott was a junior at Columbine High school, in Colorado on April 20th, 1999. Rewind a few weeks, rachel wrote a poem for her class and in it she was saying that this would be her last year, she has lived her life to its fullest. Then in art she would draw this rose, and it had 13 tears on it. Also he drew a pair of eyes with 13 tears falling from them turning to blood around a rose. On April 20th, 1999 Rachel was at high school she had went outside for lunch with a friend by the west entrance to the school. This was the last thing she ever did, 2 boys came to school that day with sawn off shotguns, they planted bombs in the cafeteria, they failed to explode. So the 2 students headed into the school from the west entrance, shooting kids on their way in, the first one they shot was Rachel Joy Scott, the shooters worked their way through the school and went to the library where they shot more students. In total, 13 died, hence the 13 tears, over 20 were wounded. In honor of Rachel a program has been started called rachel's challenge, and she had this vision "I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same. - Rachel Scott"  So this program is in honor of her and is to get students to be kind and be nice and outgoing to other people. She had goals and one of them was for her to touch millions of people and that goal is coming true through this program. So please, spread the word about this sad story, its been heard all over america, canada, bermuda, mexico, ireland and even more countries. To experience everything, please watch this video. http://www.rachelschallenge.com/LearnMore/WatchtheVideo/tabid/1699/Default.aspx (http://www.rachelschallenge.com/LearnMore/WatchtheVideo/tabid/1699/Default.aspx) and visit www.rachelschallenge.com for more info about this sad and tragic ordeal.

Unless someone posts several similar topics on THIS forum, there is nothing wrong with what he posted here. And no use to degrade the topic with a negative tone, Austin.

Not everyone here is part of other forums that he or you might be part of.
So there is really no grounds for you to critisize him (openly) on this forum, what you ask him in private about things concerning this kind of stuff is your own business of course.

1. 15 people were killed not 12. 12 students, 1 teacher, and the 2 shooters were all killed.

2. Rachel Scott was shot while eating lunch with a friend, Richard Castaldo, on the lawn outside of the school's library. Not outside of the west entrance.

3. the parents stated "their daughter was targeted by the killers" so why go on to kill another 12 people?

4. There are no references that she ever drew a rose? That must be something to lighten the story up...

yes 15 people were killed, but i'm talking about people killed by the killers. Yes she was eating lunch outside, and the shooters went in the west entrance killing her first on their way in. She was not targeted, she just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. She did draw a rose, i saw the picture myself, its in that video. I know all this because a Spambot from the organization was at my school and we were at an assembly for an hour and a half for all of this. She was in the shooting too, and got shot and lived.

Does the Spambot get paid to come to your school, by the school administration?

If you look at a map of the school building you can see the library is not close to the west entrance. (Although a new library was build 4 years after the murder)

The school is an alternative school, she had problems, why else would she be there?

The shooters killed all 15 people, 12 students, 1 teacher, then killed themselfs.

Edit:

My notes are in the ()'s

This is the police report from the incident.

11:25am - Someone at the school calls 911 to report shots fired.

11:30am - Jefferson County Sheriff arrive. They arrive to find gunshots and explosions (bombs were never detonated?) and call other agencies. Shooters preceded to cafeteria to kill all "jocks"

12:20 pm - Officers ask for additional ammunition for a shootout

12:30pm - Students begin calling family members and police from cell phones

12:35pm - Suspects continue firing rounds (these guys had allot of time to re-load their shot guns and not have anyone attack them)

1pm - Police report pipe bombs in the school. (How do they know this if they don't enter the building until 3pm?)

3:30pm - Officers find bodies in library, the two suspects, witch are bobby-trapped with explosives. (Very well planned, how were these explosives hidden?)

5:30pm - (2 hours later) Police call bomb squad, find more explosives in the west parking lot. (Seems weird police would wait so long to call bomb squad, 5 and a half hours after the first bomb was located?)

8:45pm - Press conference at the elementary school.

According to the map it seems Rachel would have been one of the last to be killed, she was next to the area where the gunman killed themselves.

Guys, this is probably not the sort of subject we'd want to turn into a dispute, about  petty details..

Let's agree to it being horrible and sad, and leave it at that.

Thanks.

yes the program gets paid from the school, like $4,000 i'm going by what the Spambot said, she was there, so i dont think she would lie, yea 15 people were killed, but i'm talkign about the people killed by the shooters

I think that this thread has degenerated into a most disgraceful affair.

It started with a very genuine expression of sorrow and has now turned into an argument.

Topic is locked.

Master Captain, I appologise for the behaviour of some of the forum members.  :'(
