Well, I left 2% as a rough estimate for the actual times that a game bug causes a crash, which does really happen too of course, specially in MP. And although that should be something that is usually to be discussed in the MP board, some people posts about it in the TS board.

But as far as the 'pure' TS topics go, yeah, that would be 10 for 10, I reckon.

Hi Fred.

Well, even for those, it doesn't seem to be Questviewer that is the cause. It is simply the carrier of the bad news that newton.dll or ACO_particle.dll or whatever has locked up for some reason.

(It seems to be that most of the MP crashes are either caused by the MP Server needing a re-boot, or the User has badly configured it or has an iffy internet connection or overloaded server hardware or else the user has one of the problems I listed above).

I Installed flight simulator and train simulator and they ran PERFECTLY at good speed and no errors at all.

Ship sim seems to be my favorite simulator, but also the worst condition, the processing is slow - I have tried to get rid of all graphics to make it faster, nothing works, and now I get lots of errors!

I understand that quesviewer is not the problem, but I think it wants "a bit too much" with its error messages. Flight sim, train sim, no errors no nothing

No nothing, so you do get something?

I have no QV errors at all, apart from when I exit the game, which is a known bug without consequenses. And my pc is really getting old now, I cannot even run FSX yet.

Perhaps there is something you can upgrade or improve.. you could attach your dxdiag if you want to..

It's just simple, every time someone persistantly kept pointing at QV being 'bad', in the end when the specs where checked and so on, and Terry did his magic..., it happened to be the pc, or the user.. not QV.

You can't just say "flightsim works, so that means ship sim should work perfectly too". There are just too many differences within games, and such a vaste many possible configurations both with hardware and software, to just compare somewhat similar games that way.

I'm sure Terry will be glad to glance at your dxdiag.. so would I (though Terry's the expert), so feel free to post it.

wel i have a verry good internet conection and i'm a prof gamer so:)
its only with this game i have problems with multiplayer and nobody nows the answer of my problem so its just a bug

If he were to read the forum guidelines and ask his question in the correct board, he would get a better response. He should also lose that attitude if he wants anyone to care if he gets help.

I agree mate, so the multiplayer has errors. WOW! Why don't you go and make a multiplayer for a game if you think its that easy? hmmm?

I know I am being spolt here, but could I PLEASE have ALL the download links and all the stuff links needed to make shipsim work? I have posted the dxdiag alot of times and none solved the problem

Hey Gloat,

The game might give you some errors sometimes, because you do not have enough ram (although it's not THAT much less, but even so, 1 gig is the bare minimum.) and your video card driver is very old.

Go here: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML

And pick out the driver suited for that card. I don't know much about ATI, but your driver is from 2005, so I think updating that would give you a much better result.

You could have a look at your audio driver too, as that's also very old, though that usually doesn't cause too much trouble.

Also you have very little free space on your system HD. that 0.5GB is probably not enough for windows to do it's thing without possible hickups, so to speak.

Perhaps Terry has something to add aswell, but I think these are the major causes of QV errors.

I know my thing is windows xp professional, but I don't know anything after that. Don't know weather its radeon or mobility or whatever. How do I learn? All I know that my c drive is "Precario C"

Well, open your dxdiag... and just read it.. the top 'paragraph' is your general info, a bit further down is youre graphics card info..

If you don't let the ammount of text scare you, and just take it line by line, you will see what is what.

If you just follow the steps on the ATI site and pick what you have, it'll lead you to a driver you can try. It's all pretty straight forward. If you read things carefully, you can't go wrong.

And as for you C drive.. well.. it's just too full. Try to remove some stuff you never use. I'm not sure on figures, specifically, but off the top of my head, it's probably wise to keep around 15% of your HD free, to give windows enough space to work.

Ah sorry, I could have mentioned that... the express is integrated. So it's in the motherboard category, not the main radeon section.

Hi.

Problems aplenty. None of them due to Questviewer. All of them due to inadequate hardware or drivers.

Memory: 960MB RAM - Below minimum requirements

Video card is ATI. They are always the most troublesome. ATI drivers are not totally reliable, I'm afraid. You may even find that an older one works better. It's very hit and miss.

Paging file is probably too small. When Windows runs out of physical memory it uses the paging file instead. As your system is memory deficient, it needs a larger paging file. 4GB would be good. Bigger if your system allows it.

The fact that your system has a peculiar amount of physical RAM probably means that you have something configured incorrectly at BIOS level. But I'm not going to give advice on that. Too much risk of completely screwing the PC up...

Your CODECS could probably be replaced with some improved/updated ones. I've made lots of posts about that in Technical Support, so just look at a few of the recent threads and you'll see the links.
