I suspect what happens is that Bedrock is actually the 30,000th member to register but this includes those who have left/been banned/died or whatever so the 29,6xx means the number of actual members active or not?

Hi Terry, I hink we currently have 29 620 members at the moment. If you click on members at the top bar, on that members page it says ''viewing members 1 to 30 (of 29620)''

So that must mean there is 29620 members. Hope this helps,

Regards, RMSGB

29623 when I checked just now. But the U:30000 link means that Bedrock was the 30000th person to be registered.

Of course, some will have been test-runs when the forum was being set up, some will have been duplicates when members have deleted one account and then re-registered and so on. Then, 29623 is the current row count in the MEMBERS table of the forum. It looks like it is pretty standard SQL databse underneath, and that would be the way that it is calculated.

So, Bedrock was indeed the 30,000th member to register, even though we have less members!  8)

A comment on the number of registered versus active members:
The fact that a member has never posted does not necessarily mean that he is not actively using the simulator.
The CMMs receive many unacceptable missions from members who have post counts of zero. Our PMs to them are never acknowledged, probably because they never bother to log onto the forum after registering. The regular emails probably are caught by spam filters, or he has not provided a valid address.
We also receive many junk missions with a blank user name, indicating that the user has never registered.

And now it all makes sense, thnks for that peice of info Terry, So we indeed do have 30000 members, even if we only have 29623! ;D
