Hello, I Am Just Wondering When SS09 Is Going To Come Out, Because I Can't Wait Because It Looks And Sounds Realy Good.

Hi Tinie,

It's going to take a bit of time untill we shall see the next version, SS10.

There is no way to predict anything yet, since it's in an early stage of development, but I suspect around Q3 next year, or maybe Q4. But I don't think it'll be any sooner.

Only an educated guess, don't pin me on this.

Yes I think it will be worth it personally, since it's going to take a while before the new version is released, and you'll have lots of time left to have fun with the addon untill then.

I read that SS09 was being released in 2009 first quarter, with new environments like sydney and part of the antartic. Are you sure about this or was what I read a load of rubbish?

That was on the newsletter that VSTEP sent out. Things change over time.

I keep seeing threads about SS10? Is SS09 to be SS10 instead?

I dont know, If it ends up being released Q3 or Q4, which wouldnt suprise me, itll probably be called SS2010. I think Q1 was probably a bit optomistic, but hopefully not...

If SS2009 doesn't exist, then probably SS2010 will be released in 2010

Although it is possible that SS 2011 will be released in 2010. Or in 2011. But not in 2012.

SS09 would ounly be called SS10 if it gets released internationally in 2010.

I am, personally, going with the news letter on this one, as Mad Fred didn't recieve his estimate from VSTEP 1st hand, 2nd hand, 3rd hand, 4th hand, 5th hand, etc.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried..

The newsletter is old.. the estimate is old. And the staff always has first hand knowledge, FYI. We're in contact with VSTEP on a daily basis.

And if the next game is released in late Q3 or even Q4 of 2009, it is still going to be SS10. I'm not saying there is a definate date planned, since it's early days.. but we have our suspicions, based on what we know of the plans, work involved, etc..

If a developer releases a game late in the year, and gives it the name of that very year, then in a few months, it will look as a year old game.

Since releasing it in october for example, and calling it SS09, means that within 3 months, the game will 'sound' old, while the title is SS09, yet the year is allready 2010.

Many many developers do this, how else do you explain Fifa 09 (and all the other EA sports titles for that matter) coming out a few months ago, when it's still 2008?

Before you make bold statements, you better have the right information.

What a silly thing to say. Fred has very close contacts with Vstep, as do all of the moderators.

You have simply no idea of the level of involvement and development that goes on behind the scenes. And why would you?

VSTEP refers to it as SS 2010 in the Captainâ€™s Journal included with Collectorâ€™s Edition.
