No, The DS will never have enough power for ship dynamics.

And that tiny screen would drive me nuts! My computer has a 19 inch moniter and going that small would stink!

How about iPhone or iPod touch? They got flight simulator so why not ship simulator, I don't have a clue but maybe if you could change the density of the air or something... Anyway X-Plane for iPhone has some pretty good graphics and dynamics. (I have a feeling I will now get shouted at)

I may have to go find X-Plane in the App store. But still, many features would need to be removed.

it works with an aeroplane, so why not a ship? There wouldn't be much difference, just remove the up/down accelerometer motion. Sure, it would be difficult to have missions, but just sailing wouldn't be too hard, would it?
It may be small screen, but its got a big dpi (163 i think) so it would be fairly clear.

Yeah, sailing around would be easy... But doing anything like multiplayer, missions, or anything would not be possible.

Still that's a main part of the game, so it would still be fairly fun. Somewhere like Phi-Phi would be ok because its only a few islands and theres lots of ocean. You could have throttle on the left (Like in x-plane) and maybe thruster along the bottom. I agree though that missions wouldn't be possible and nor would multiplayer really, but you've got pcs for that.

i think it would be very stupid to have SS on a portable device(not including laptops).
Now, to have it on  something like xbox360  would be nice. u could have a huge amount of controls and u could still go on MP.

Deadliest Catch runs fine on my XBOX 360, so it shouldn’t take VSTEP more than couple of weeks to put Ship Simulator on it.

Ever so easy, I'd say.

But then I am completely, barking mad.

Terry: If SS can run on a PC, it should run on XBOX. They both work by electricity.

Sorry,

The Boss is currently on a hill, howling at the moon. He will be back once we tranquilize and net him.

Not to rain on the joke's parade, but should they ever wish to, VSTEP would find it rather easy to port the game over to the Xbox 360 (the 360's operating system is a warped version of XP and Vista combined). I've seen for myself the development tools that Microsoft provides to companies like Rockstar North (GTA devs), and without having ANY knowledge of what makes games tick, I got to see how easy it is to make a game for the 2 platforms (in some instances, it was as simple as drag and drop).

Anyhow, it'll never happen, but I'd be there at midnight to pick up my copy if they ever did. :)
