What about the Calypso from Jacqeus Coustau?
Or a bouy laying vessel like the Vliestroom?
or some fishingvessels like trawlers and Beamtrawlers?
or tandemfishing with 2vessels towing 1net?
and some rowervessels that more ships to the jetties.
A firedepartmentvessel to put out fires.
and a few topyachts from known manufactures would be cool.
a bayliner or a 60foot superyacht.
would also love to see some locks in the game.

Since (so I hear) Dover is included (in the same environment as Calais), how about Dover's resident Harbour Board pilot boats and tugs? They have some amazing tugs with features such as jet and bow thrusters, which enable them to do a 360 degree turn on the spot! (I think) And therefore manoevure in a much better way. Also how about P&O's regular visitors, Pride of Kent, Pride of Calais, Pride of Canturbury etc?

And further to my post, how about (I know it's SHIP similator not Yacht) some smaller yachts like the ones you can see in most ports? E.g. 30ft? It would make the game much better: I have wanted to be able to virtually skipper a yacht like my dad's in a simulator like this for years, and I think this is the best game it could be in. I suppose it is a BOAT at least  But still, most Yachts at places like Dover have ENGINES, (they have to to be able to get out of the harbour!) so I suppose......   :captain:

I would like to have an engined sailing ship
I think that would be very cool...

It's not the best picture but you can see what I mean. This boat doesn't has an engine but you can add it in the shipsim.

I think it would be fascinating to bring to use the barge visible ports like Hamburg or the Solent.

But it would not hurt to create ocean passenger ships ...

More fishing ships, like trawlers. Or more (seagoing) tugs. I'd also like to see a modern dhow.

I would really like to see a great lakes frieghter... Its a vessle used on the great lakes in the U.S. and i think is really under explored in ship sim, There are a truly amazing ship and are great to watch and are loved by boat nerds everywhere, they supply america's mighty steel industry by hauling Iron ore, coal, lime stone, grain, and even cement..... Heres a pic of some: One of the more famous one the arthur m anderson: http://www.boatnerd.com/pictures/fleet/thumb/anderson-water-unload-kcbxchicago-99-gc.jpg (http://www.boatnerd.com/pictures/fleet/thumb/anderson-water-unload-kcbxchicago-99-gc.jpg) and the biggest on one the great lakes: the Paul R. Tregurtha: http://www.boatnerd.com/news/newpictures02/PaulRTregurtha-saltie72502dc-pg.jpg (http://www.boatnerd.com/news/newpictures02/PaulRTregurtha-saltie72502dc-pg.jpg)

That one deserves my vote too!
There's a lack of such kind of ships...

SS is conquered by ferries & tugs, while forum is flooded by Ferrymen & their supporters.  :P

Hi! I love powerboats, and here in Plymouth we have one of the world championship races;

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to add ships to Ship Simulator, but there are some modellers who are trying to get ships approved by Vstep, there should be some guidelines in Development Corner somewhere

Others here just model for fun (Me included!) and it would be interesting to see a powerboat

well its good to see someone still comes here to this forum....thanx for response m8...iam also a Brit but live in Belgium, iam a big fan of the real class1 cats & Big RC Cats from sweden the Segad,Negotiator,Team Victory,Geco, just to name a few....anyway after modelling cars for GTR2 & Rfactor i found ship sim, and i thought it would be better to do the boats for this sim as its rather large water areas and realistic... but if you say its too difficult ....then i should use another sim ? Why has no one ever thought of a PowerBoat sim....? :'(

I don't know, but I'd buy one if there was!
Well I love King of Shaves (Now Negotiator) myself, but that's just me. My mother used to work
at Plymouth Dome (now closed down, MASSIVE blunder by Plymouth City Council ) and the view from her office was probably the best view anyone can get, or if not, there was a camera on the roof of the dome and a big observation gallery where you could control it, now THAT was the best view

There are some other simulators, Virtual Sailor (http://www.hangsim.com/vs/) being a popular one, but you could try Rigs Of Rods (http://www.rigsofrods.com) (i'm addicted to this!) but nothing as high quality as Ship Sim, because it's so hard to modify.

Sorry I can't be of a little more help!

wow must have been fantastic to see those cats race past from that view.....

well thanx for your help and the link for riggs, not top quality but for an open sauce its outstanding....i think my best bet is to continue the models for Rfactor then if its too hard for Ship Sim.....real shame....a real powerboat sim not just go round in circles on water but doing the real long distance races, it would be a winner, with all the top boats from past to present, not just cats but P1 Vee's & F1 Tunnelhull boats...oh well just dreaming i guess.. if anyone has any news then please drop a message here ...

Thanx

Well keep your fingers crossed for Ship Simulator Extremes!

I think for the moment, Virtual Sailor is your best bet.
