Windows Explore is what you use to browse files on your computer. Your talking about Internet Explore right?

He has to be. There is no such thing as Windows Exlorer 8.

IE 8 is in beta. "Bloatware" might be a better description.

Just saw a docu on Discovery the other night about the browser-wars of yore..
Microsoft really did a job on Netscape, made me kind of glad I've got Firefox.. :)

Does the 'Bloatware' have any redeeming features Terry?

Yes. For me, the best ones are:

  • It's not Firefox (they try to claim it's more secure, but all that I see shows to me that there are even more security issues than IE with less willingness to admit to them and fix them)
  • It's not Chrome (which is even more bloated and has a huge number of bugs)

Otherwise, I think IE 7 is fine. At the moment, I don't see any compelling reason to switch from 7 to 8.

Yes, glad to confirm that Opera is not Firefox, either. I've always liked Opera, as I think of it as Netscape wearing different underpants.

What a nice thought
P.S. I use Opera sometimes, has a nice "speed dial" i think. can be very quite useful

I use Safari myself, as I use a mac. I don't particularly like Firefox for the mac. Never tried Opera, though.
