Where Is The Technical Support Board?
« on: October 25, 2008, 01:20:35 »

Hello Ship Simmers,

I'm new to both Ship Simulator and this forum and am still trying to find my way around.

Forgive me if I've missed something obvious, but where do I find the Technical Support board? By doing a search I found some posts wich had been moved to the Tech Supp board but when I clicked on a link to take me there I received an error message telling me I cannot access it.

Any help would be much appreciated as I need help regarding the very first activity, rescuing the captain of the small boat in the Phi Phi Islands. Everything goes fine as I approach the green circle in the water, but as soon as the drowning sailor appears in view the sim freezes.

Again any help with locating the Tech Supp board or my activity problem would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Silent Hunter

You need to register your license key in your profile.

First click "Profile" on the main navigation bar.

Then scroll down (if necessary) and find the "License Key Registration" box. Enter your licensee key with the dashes (-) and click "Register". You have now registered your license key to play multiplayer and upload your mission times and ranks online!

Now start ship simulator setup a profile using your username and check "Allow Online"

Thanks for your help Agent Austin, I've registered my licence key and can now see the Tech Support board. Unless I missed something, the forum doesn't make it clear how to get registered.

Thanks again,

Silent Hunter

Hi Silent Hunter,
You now also have access to the Missions board. That is the place to ask questions about specific missions, because that is where we look for them and where answers are posted.
Your particular problem, though, is best handled first in Tech Support because it may be a hardware or configuration problem.

When you have a question about running a mission, please give the exact title and where you found it. There are many missions with similar scenarios, and finding the particular one “with the boat and the water” can be difficult.
Welcome to the forum, and good luck,
Marty
