MPSS website - Your thoughts?
« on: October 09, 2008, 01:27:42 »

Hi everyone,

I've been away for quite some time now which I'm very sad to say. However, I have been very busy in running our family boat business and a few other things. One of those things is the brand new MPSS website which I'm currently working on as we speak. Please be rest assured I do not want this post to seem like 'advertising' but really just to have a lot of members opinions about the site's design and it's coming features. I am a web designer who designs websites from scratch, and not one who uses templates.

Currently the website is in it's early stages, but I've already put a template and a design in place, and have created some pages. The website itself will have a user login, for those very special MPSS members  :)

At the moment, the list of features which members will be able to do are:-

> login to the MPSS website, and update their online profile
> upload and submit screenshots to our web gallery for other members to comment on
> Upload Ship Simulator videos to share with other members
> Host official MPSS servers and have it placed on the MPSS server list
> Contribute to various other aspects of the website.

I won't post the screenshots here, just incase it's not allowed. To see the website screenshots, view the thread here (http://www.mpssclan.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=472.msg8438#msg8438).

So please post your comments and suggestions here. MPSS has died recently, and I'm hoping that a new website will entice users to participate in a few community events and other things. for this reason I need to get the website just right, so your input is really valued!

For those of you who have not seen or heard about MPSS, please PM me, or send me an email  :)

Thanks guys!

Hi MC,

I wasn't necessarily routing for more members to come and be active (although a nice thought!) but I was primarily wondering if people could give there thoughts on the website.

Looks good but still quiet!!

Yes unfortunatly the forum is a still a bit quiet. I'd be fascinated to find out why...

I agree with you SD, I have joined several and after an initial burst of enthusiasm from those concerned they seem to fail. At the end of the day this site surely has something to offer everyone?

Not only that, but MPSS is not just a place to talk about ship simulator. Although SS is our main topic, you can post all sorts of things on there as another place to talk about things.

Guys you fail to see what I had posted above in my first post. The website will offer plenty of things to do and I'm coming up with ideas all the time.

Also, if there's anything you would like to see, just let us know :)  This is a forum for everyone, but the website is something I'm more concerned about.

You can do all that here. Why bother with another forum, it's like the proliferation of MP servers...
