Walkthrough on Titanic

Just wondering if more people think the way I do. To walk in the engine room would be pretty nice, and all the rest of the lower decks. :-\  :)

This is actually a pointless poll, as most such polls are. So far as development priorities are concerned, this is not a democracy. Titanic can just barely be handled by many systems as she is. The primary purpose of Ship Simulator is the actual operation of vessels, not walkabout.

Multiplayer is not the place for this topic. Considering the problems with accidental ramming, the idea of someone on MP sightseeing instead of steering his ship would not appeal to the others on the server.

Well, move it if you want. I just wanted to see if people would like to walk through and see the inards of Titanic (decks A-H).

Or, you could just read the many topics and posts on that subject that are already on the forum.

Fleet Admiral Hayes , this has nothing to do with Multiplayer.

Please study the forum and make sure that your future posts are in the appropriate area.

Moved to "General Discussions", which is the appropriate place for talk about Ship Simulator-related chit-chat.

I would want to go on the Grand staircase, engline rooms, boilers, first class staterooms, dining hall. Captain Smiths cabin, the Crows nest, the bridge, the swimming pool...

As you can see the major sights of the Titanic are close the infinity.

I voted Maybe. I don't want VSTEP to sit at the computer all day and night to make something not that much needed...

Id rather VSTEP doing something about lowering the lifeboats of the Titanic.

And Mvsmith, I'd rather you imagined SS2208 without walkabout (I think ss2006 is like that) If this was the case on SS2008 the game would have got boring quite quickly, wouldn't you agree?

No Cap’n T,
Camera three is useful for operating the ship.
Adding interior spaces not relevant to the primary purpose of the simulator is not the best use of resources if it results in a model that impacts the frame rate. That is not the same as saying "No walkabout."

there has been many topics about roaming more of Titanic especially her engine, boiler rooms and other places of that sort. The problem is, with so many moving parts you would need an extremly powerful computer to get smooth fps, and for most people the engine simply would not work :-\ search around ;)

Sorry, the order I went in was vote --> poll --> read posts

Anyway, if Vstep can make ships and propellers move, why not engines that move in sync with the propellers?

Exactly! So why not engine parts to move in sync with them?

because diesel engines, they're is almost nothing to animate, all the rockers are under covers now, you can't see the pistons. So theres really nothing to animate, just like in the push boat, nothings animated because there is nothing to animate. :P

true, i said there is nothing to animate on a diesel engine. But as i said, because of the large amount of moving parts it would take away too much fps.

MC, it is like talking to a stone. I doubt that you can get through to them, because the subject is beyond their comprehension. Best to just do as the developers do—ignore them.

What? You mean that Vstep aren't going to make the watch hands go round correctly on the fob-watch in the pocket of the Ship's Captain? Shameful!

Don’t be ridiculous, Terry, a fob watch is hidden in the pocket. It would make about as much sense as doing rooms that are mostly hidden inside the ship.
But, it is not unreasonable to demand that, when we have people wandering about the ship—as VSTEP must do if they want to keep selling this game, the wristwatches that are in plain sight keep accurate time.
