How did they do that?
« on: September 11, 2008, 23:29:03 »

How did they get a picture like the statue of liberty one at http://www.shipsim.com/products/ship+simulator+2008.php# Like it was some sort of helicopter. Unless they were 3ds Renders. Tell me what you think. .Also, How do they do shots like 1:26 on the New Trailer?

They made it they probably can do what ever they want with the camera and ships. It is just an animation they made with the 3D models.

I guess if you make a game you can manipulate it however you want, so I agree with Austin with the 3 models being used. Ever heard of Trackmania? You can make videos using a camera that can roam the whole environment, so I guess they used something like that. Just fancy video software

Trackmania is a free racing game with a huge online community. It is not a video software package its just that you can make videos of your tracks in the game. So unless you can put a racetrack in shipsim it's not gunna work

Be warned though. If you want decent graphics ur gunna need a really good CPU e.g. quad core/ fast dual core and a decent graphics card

You can get that shot (1:26) if you fall off the ship.
