Same question here. What is it? I click it and it shows a face, and some numbers and a flashing thing.

Maybe it's this since ShipSim is on their list of Track IR enhanced games.

I've never understood why sometimes people ask a question on a forum,

you take time to write a post,
you wait until someone answers your post,

while a google search is several hundred times faster :)

No we aren't we can ignore you or ban you or do what ever we want to you. Technically the moderators and admins can ban you for no reason at all if they wanted to. They won't but they could.

Anyway try GOOGLE next time. or ship simulator forum's SEARCH feature.

WE? When did you become a mod?
Well if you want to act like that.

If you have something more to say after you posted a message, then you can use the 'modify' button to add something more to your post. Specially when no one else has posted after you yet, it is the best option to use.

Posting several messages in a row can be interpreted as post boosting, even though you might not intend to do that. So try to use that modify option, and people won't post possible negative remarks about post-boosting.

I am just offering advice before the real moderators bite your rear end.

Edit: Me being here 15 months more then you (1 year+) I think you should show me a little respect, since I know the tools of the trade a little better and have done the same things you have done and learned from it.

Having 2000 more helpful posts and having seen everything that can happen you can probably give me just a little tiny bit of respect. Like you should to everyone else also. All you care about here is yourself. What if I was right? Maybe your right and I read it somewhere else that it wasn't. Maybe were both wrong, or were both right. Either way you shouldn't modify the height of the waves.

Go to the website and there is a video of what happens on screen and your head movement. It's very clever

Do you have one or have you used one? I'm wondering how sensitive they are or if it gets annoying having it move every time you move your head just a little.

Hi Russ,

I've got one, and have used it for quite a long time now, in lots of simulation games, like Falcon 4, MSFS, IL2, LOMAC, LFS, Richard Burns Rally and of course SS08, to name a handfull. And I don't ever want to do without it again.  :)

It's really easy to get used to. It's a bit awkward at first, and you feel you really have to "guide" the view towards the things you want to see. So you have to stick with it a bit and learn how the movement of your actual head is amplified in the game. All of this is of course also customizable with the TIR software, so it's a bit of fiddling around to find the proper setup for you. But it's really straight forward stuff.

And then after a week or so, you just instincively put your "eyes" on target and it gets second nature, so much that you don't even think about it at all any more. And it will make everything so much more immersive, I would recommend it to anyone that has a bit of cash to invest in their gaming rig.  ;D

It can be setup to be really sensitive, but I haven't really found it annoying at all when it moves when you're not sitting still. In fact, it will make you sit still more... :P

Oops, I sound like a salesman.. well, I just really like it, let's keep it at that.  :D

Regards,
Fred
