Golden Gate Wirlpools
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:33:56 »

As much as I'd like to have the famous Golden Gate Wirlpools swirling around my boat in ship simulator I'm using my better judgement and guessing it will never happen, So I'm really just posting this topic to make more people aware that there are plenty of powerful wirlpools that gather around the supports of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Although they aren't like the giant kind in movies they are some of the biggest in the world.  So I can tell you are asking, Yes they do make it hard to stear boats near the supports. ;)

In the show called 'Mythbusters' they showed those Golden Gate whirlpools and later tested could man be sucked underwater if caught by one :)
