Your Favourite Ship
« on: August 25, 2008, 15:11:55 »

Post here info and picture(s) about your favourite ship and maybe a small paragraph on why it's your favourite. Mine:

Pride of Hull
Length: 215.1m
Year of Launch: 2001
In service: December 2001
Country Of Building: Venice, Italy
Speed: 22kn
Flag: British
Sisterships: Pride of Rotterdam
Route: Hull - Rotterdam
Homeport: Hull

Why i like it: There is something about the Pride of Hull that i just like more about her than her sister - can't exactly put my finger on what though.

To be honest, I'm very fond of all my local tugs.

http://j-eyres.fotopic.net/c1256804.html - Great pictures of them there.

However, if forced to, my favourite is the Trafalgar. I was fortunate enough to see both her lauch, and her commissioning ceremony, both around 10 years ago now, and have been out on her about 15-20 times.

No, it's the Queen Mary 1 that is haunted.  There are many ghosts that have been witnessed on the ship.  Strangly enough they all appeared after it'd first trip to California. :-\

QueenMary 2, obviously!

Year of Launch:2003
Maiden Voyage:December 2003
Ensign: Southampton
Port of Registry: Southampton
Top Speed:35.5 knots
Main Route: Transatlantic Crossing
Sisterships: QE2, QV
Why i Like her:
Because she is the most majestic ship in the world! THe reason i would rather her than her sistership QE2 because she is bigger, wider, longer, taller, deeper and looks more seaworthy.
