Hello Denis and TJK,
There is also the history of Conomor, some early predecessor of Henry VIII during the VIth century, not a pirate, but a great and noble king (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conomor)whose attitude vs his wives was slightly less than noble, his only small weakness. But nonetheless a noble man, like all Bluebeards.

Mine should be instantly recognisable to any Tug fans, it's the latest symbol for Svitzer. I don't have any connection with Svitzer (used to with Adsteam/SMIT), but I use it because it also appears neutral, but has a nautical theme.

Well, whats in a name? My avatar is a pic of myself. The eyepatch is for show only, so is the hat. But the beard is for real.

No, that's a very generous beard.

A mean beard is one that never goes out and buys flowers or takes you for a meal. (Holding bits of yesterday's breakfast doesn't count).

That's why I shaved mine off recently. 35 years we'd been together. Man and beard. Now it's over.

My avatar is a shot of the bows from the bridge of the 'Pride of Bilbao' in the Bay of Biscay. It was taken by a good mate of mine who was the ship's photographer at the time. Brings back memories

I'm 22, and can't even grow a real beard. I've been told I'm lucky that I don't have to shave often (once a month), but I'm currently sporting a nice jawful of dark red, bum fluff.
