I had a friend round at my offices today. He used to be Chief Engineer in the Royal Navy. He roared with laughter when I read him that! We almost had to force-feed him with tranquilisers to get him to stop laughing.

I rather got the impression that flicking a switch was not the way he had to start engines when he was in the Navy...  ;D

Off topic for a bit here:

OMG look what i have  found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrAVBODrOPs&feature=related,

look it has more controls on the pannel, more realistic sea dynamics, better bow wake foams, bit better ship dynamics....REALISM!, i think SS09 should have something very similar, just get rid of all the icons at the top

I think the wake is a whole lot better.  It is actually wavey so If you drive over it it's like a speed bump like in the real world. ;)

That is better video, its longer and it has a few extras :D, but try out this for a change

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNMOHIiwp-8&feature=related - this will give you a nice overall of what a boat looks like, performances, inside, decorations, dynamics, wake foam trail etc. and maybe an idea of what SS09 should probably be following up.
