Error when Starting Ship Simulator Extremes

I just started twice ship simulator extremes and got this:



when I try to to anything the screen goes black for 5 seconds and goes back to this, I have also had a similar problem with the screen going black without anything else happening on GTA 4 but as a one off, the only way out of either is to restart the computer!

Also before launching SSE avast says the program has been reported for malware but my instalation is ok!

What should I do to fix the problem?

I would start with updating the grafix drivers and try again
Then check your pc with malwarebytes f.e. if its clean

I havn't had any malware, I don't know why it says that, It also did the same on the instalation of the armstrong powerhouse sound packs for railworks, which has caused major glitches with the 2 tone horns!

Do you mean the license key for SSE or avast as I have the freeware version of avast.

I have updated the graphics drivers, but I cannot install any patches as it says there is no instalation.

you may have steam version? no need to update it cos steam do it automatic¨
the updates and patshes from www.shipsim.com are not for steam.

Is there any way of playing the game without this glitch happening?

I have reinstalled SSE and updated the graphics drivers but it is still doing it, is there actualy any way of playing without this glitch, it says in the manual that if the screen doesn't match the picture the graphics card is to old.

I have a fairly new computer (2011) with a large 1GB nvidia graphics card, how do I play the game?

I have installed SSE over and over and again around 4 or 5 times, and I don't get it works, it just notifies me a n error at intro of it, further than the Vstep logo and Ship Simulator Extremes ft an arrow pointing at right side of, ( this is the VSTEP logo) just load for ever, and takes like over 10 mins, IDK what happens after that, because I CBA  to waste my time hopping it for something to happens, furthermore I installed the update 5, and I just fellow the instructions by... and I don't start it to get works, what should I do? I'm just tired and getting sick of wait for something that IDK whether it is damaged or not. thanks for any help, suggestion/advice.

Have you disabled the Avast it could be the program's you have running
in the background are causing the bad install.
If the steam version you can verify the integrity of install from steam library.

Hi i hawe war for 3 days but i win!

This applies if you have purchased the game from Steam:

Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ship simulator extremes\Resources\redist\ and install vcredist.exe and PhysX_9.10.0129_SystemSoftware.exe.

Then run the file called "Unregister.exe" from the main directory (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ship simulator extremes\)

If this doesn't work, you can try to reinstall the entire game.

Thanks for your help, It didn't work first time I tried that, but is now working fine, could've been something to do with steam not starting properly, which happens sometimes.

How do I get the cinematic camera to dissapear, appart from driving away from it?
