It was inevitable to be fair. Not a question of if, but when. Vstep can hardly keep these servers running until 2086. Considering this is a 5 year old game it's actually a rare occurance that the servers were kept running for so long with such small amount of people on it.
On average there are about 7 people online each day. That isn't simultaneously perse. Usually if I take a random look at the online servers, 9/10 times they all indicate zero players.
Still, people can still create their own servers if they wish.
