I don't know about anyone else, but I don't count chickens- regardless of their hatched status...

Angus pursuaded Vstep to be allowed to announce it... It has also been confirmed by Dr T since.

It was in the Christmas Special where Frank did an interview for it:

Quote
5. With ShipSim Extremes on the horizon, do you have any hints as to what the future holds?

Last question already, I thought you’d never ask... Without resorting to the usual marketing mumbo jumbo, I can honestly say that what you are going to be seeing in Ship Simulator Extremes will be some of the most spectacular ocean and ship visuals ever produced. Ship Sim 2008 looked good, Ship Sim Extremes will look incredible. Combine this with new vessels, new environments, a new mission and campaign structure and plenty of other improvements based on community feedback, and you’ve got a game our core simulator audience will love to play.
That’s our goal, and the team is working full steam ahead to realize this.

Could be that I mist something before, but

Has anyone noticed the change of releasedate / periode ?  :o

On the German forum today:

Dieses interview hat grade im Augustus 2009 auf der GamesCom stạttgefunden und einige sachen sind nicht mehr aktuell.

Z.B. der releasedate ist schon einzige zeit Q2 2010 und nicht Q1.

Warum Gamereactor jetzt dieses interview publiziert unt nicht fruher ist mir nicht bekannt.

V.G.

Frank

Wich means: Releasedate is 2nd quarter of the year 2010, for quite some time !

Never heard that mentioned before / until now !  ;D

Hi Erik,
A release date of “April 2010” was given by some sources a while ago, but many sources still say Q1. If it is Early April, then the release has not slipped by much.
It is to be expected that the date will slip because, as anyone who has been involved in software development should know, you never know when it will be finished until you are done.

Hello Marty,

It is not that I´m suprised, seeing that message confirming the expected delay.

I was just wondering if anyone noticed it to be the first official anouncement, about it !

Old enough to know that the best products are those, that got the attention that is needed .

Patient enough to wait for the result, but just happy that they are telling us themselves, what´s up.

A bit off topic here , but I am going to mention this as this topic is quite active:-

Can the admins not send an e mail to all members linking the thread in the e mail and "also" mention that the multiplayer online is still going strong?

TThis could pull some of the oldere skippers out of the closet !!! :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Sorry, no, seeing as some people don't want emails from the forum all the time...

In all fairness to VSTEP, they've given dates before and on those dates when nothing came a lot of people got angry about it, and VSTEP were only making sure what we got was of good quality, so I don't blame them for only saying Q1 etc.

All we need is patience, SSE will come when it comes. :)
