W.I.P. - M/V Barfleur.
« on: June 19, 2007, 05:32:43 »

Hi Folks. I'm new on this Forum...

I have modeled the M/V Barfleur for VS (Virtual Sailor) and if it's possible, then I want to get it into ShipSim someday. - Maybe when the 2008 comes out. I can export to almost every fileformats, as I'm using Deep Exploration too. The model is made in SketchUp 5.0 Pro.

Cheers.

Wow. I really like that. That captures the feel of the ship really well. I'm very impressed. I didn't think sketchup was to that quality.

Thanks...

Yes Sketchup is powerfull if you know how to use it.

 - And 6.0 pro sucks. - My Opinion, Burn it. The worst bull**** I ever seen. Crashes all the times, and then they removed alot of nice features, and added some new useless crap. - I really can't model with it.

5.0 is still my Favorite.

Jensen, I think those lifeboats on Sharky's ferry may be the sort of thing Aries was looking for on your ferry...

Yes, but the features still missing. And good you can use it.

I have modeled a Bridge-Interior for the M/V Barfleur too...

It's really good!  How much of the ship is walkable?

Sharky,

Is that photo in a sailing sim, or is it a raytraced 'demo shot'?

I think that is one of the best models I've seen. I really like the lighting effect.

 :o You've mentioned the competition!

Actually I think I'm going to get VS (AS WELL as ss08), just for some of the features listed. I didn't realise that you could put great big ferries into it :)

Thanks for the info anyway.

Photoshop effects are always nice, but it doesn't look like that in Virtual Sailor. I guess and I’m sure that you have material colours as the most common material to the outside of the ship.
Great model, but I would really like to see her without any effects added to the screenshot. ;)

No. The SDK is now not likely to be available for the foreseeable future, possibly never. See the post

for more details. If you use the search function you can find all the details you need.
