Title: I need your help
Post by: Capt. Le Velle on August 19, 2008, 05:13:26
I deleted the other post called "Do you think this is a good buy" for the reason to start this one which i think makes more since.   This is how it works i will put links up showing boats i like and you voice your opinion,  so i will help me find a boat.   If you are going to look at boats to help me out here are the requirements.   Price $1 to $8,000,  Length 18' to 24'  Please no cuddy cabins.   I know i did drop the price and length but i dont think i will be able to pay for much bigger

Hmmm,

My 18' boat cost $17,000.  If it's quality you're after I don't think you're going to have much luck. :-\

You may find that people are reluctant to post after you deleted all of their previous comments and posts and so on. It didn't impress me very much, I must admit.

The deletion of everone's kind efforts to assist you didn't impress me. Lots of people thought hard about your request and spent their time finding images for you and discussing aspects of the vessels and so on.

And then you just turned around and threw it away. I know that people here are very helpful and kind, but they may feel less inclined to help you again if that's how little regard you have for their hard work.

Yes. That is indeed the case and which is why some members might be upset. For some people, that number is very important.

The only reason it is important to me is because it is the most posts I have EVER had on a forum. And this is also the longest I have ever stayed with a forum and not left because it has died. :P

But I like helpin out to.

The post counter do not count if you post in the same topics you can answer 100 tines in the same but you will haw the same number. then the number are the same, the only way to trig the counter are to make new topics or post in different  topics. so i think it's stupid to post just for try to trig the post counter I TOOK WRONG  :o :P

Before I posted this it was 3574. Now its... (edit coming up): 3575. So what you've said doesn't seem to be correct. (about needing to post in different topics. I fully agree with how daft it is to post just to try to boost a number on the left-hand side of the post. People who do that need toget a life!).

Its because the system always shows the total number against all posts made by that person. If you look now, you'll see that they've all changed again, now. That number isn't frozen.

those boats are always going to look like that and they are seriously old. so you will start to have problems with the outdrive if it has not been looked after
Title: Re: I need your help
Post by: Capt. Le Velle on August 22, 2008, 00:21:17
i really dont care if they are old and i can fix outdrives they are the same as a car engine and drive train..  And they are not always going to look like that im not going to leave is as is i was going to fix them up get new paint and such.  Plus i had cars older than that and never had problems with them.  The older they get the less complicated they are
Title: Re: I need your help
Post by: ash on August 27, 2008, 21:34:15
yes but the outdrives are complicated and they can cost thousands to repair and those boats cabins are always going to be that shape

I have a 135hp stern drive (Inboard/outboard, out drive) and I was just looking at 210hp drives and they cost about $11,000 :P  That's pain for your wallet. ;D

Two years ago, I replaced the engine and stern drive in my boat. Single 360HP Volvo Penta. Cost £12,000 when all was finished.

Boats are never cheap!

what you just said is like saying that the interior of a car cant be fixed or replaced.  I know how to fix the interior of a boat or a car i have done it to many of my friends toys

In actuality it might cost less to get one of the older boats.
