Knowing you, trains, I'd have to guess:that was torn down and made into a new pier with a sprts center inside ::) ok. here. it was pier 54. anyone know why its famous?
The dock that the Titanic was supposed to dock at?
I know that's still standing...
anyone know why its famous?
Its famous becaus it's the last place Lusitania left before been torpedoed and it is also where Carpathia left the survivors of Titanic ;)associated with both ships!
this is the pier. (http://www.wirednewyork.com/piers/pier54/chelsea_pier54_12jan02.jpg)that's what I was thinking of...
you guys are right. it was amazing. no Terry, i din't see you, your wife, DJM, or Mad Fred ::) too bad the pier where Titanic was going to dock was torn down :'( they had to do it. use a diffrent spot. not there. i wanted to see the old pier. who ever wanted to build the new pier is an idiot! >:(agreed. What peir was that, anyway? I want to see it on Google Maps
i saw pier 54. and Titanic was to dock at pier 59(which now is a big pile of metal ****)coordinates of both? or at least a general idea of locations?
The question about Titanic that still roams in my head:That was a magazine reveiw calling her "practically unsinkable", as neither White Star, nor Harland and Wolff ever made that claim.
If they didn't mention the mear fact of "unsinkability" of the Titanic.. would that iceberg have jumped in the way then?
Regards,
Frankestein

You were there at the same time as me, obviously.lol
That's cheating! ;D
Hi Fred.
That one is really cool! What size engine does it have? 2 litres would seem about adequate...
It's got the new pocket-size warp engine.. top notch hyper-modern stuff.. It's small size does mean that it can't do much more than warp 5.3, but here in Holland, that still means I can get anywhere within 0.00002341 seconds. :P
;D
PS Terryrussel: have a great trip!
