Another great British invention to enjoy alongside Marmite.
Thanks Fred! And well done.

The congealed blood of cattle, mixed with whatever sludge happens to be lying about? Now I know what they do with the sludge they pump out the bilges of ferries!

Ours is a bit different to the (yorkshire isnt it?) black pudding you have. But same sorta sludge, for sure. Love it. ;D

Scottish, actually. Try fruit pudding instead. Much nicer (actually edible).
Having said that, black pudding dipped in Marmite could work, I suppose :-\
-
I’ll stick to Pemmican.

* tries to find the smiley with the green cheeks and the troubled look *
dang, that's just nasty ;D

NOTE
I'm off to bed now as I have to be in the office in 5 hours and even I need some sleep.
I say this just so you know that if I don't reply to your next outrageous comment about Marmite, it isn't that you're getting the last word... But that I'm knackered and need sle....zzz.zzz.zzz.
-
Good night mate!
Oh, talking about sleep.. I had a dream about Marmite the other night..
At first I didn't understand why, but then I saw that the cat had been sick on the duvet... ;D
-
can't help but think of that great Monty Python sketch about spam... ;D
-
;D
I'm a big MP fan. And that spam sketch is hilarious. hehe

Stu
Yes Stu, thats how they make Marmite! ;D AND some people think they mine it! Thats only pot noodles!
-
Oh well,
I allready was saying "I have again Marmite in my mailbox"
But I think I could start saying again "I have again spam in my mailbox" thanks to this topic! ;D
Thank you Mad_Fred for bringing my old vocabulary back ;) :P

In fairness, cats don't generally like Marmite... So that is understandable... Dogs like it.
-
Now for my evening's marmite & haggis sandwich. Topped off with two slices of spam and creosote. Not sure which I like the best.
Mind you.... oh-oh. Must go. The cat's just eaten the marmite and haggis. Mad Fred, it's your dream come true ;D
Night, all.

Look, I'm FED UP with the off topic posts. Kindly refrain from mentioning ANY foodstuff except Marmite (and the anti-Marmite opposite) but any discussion of non-Marmite will result in this total waste of forum resources being reported to the admin.
Thankyou.
(This is dry wit humour, by the way) :P

Stu, the anti-Marmite opposite is Marmite.
But as they say, two wrongs don't make a right.
"Anti-Marmite". Is that a leptonic particle? In truth, there is strangeness and beauty. Perhaps marmiteness is the undiscovered property of leptons.

Stu
Imagine what Stu might be capable of after a pint or two, or a few Scotches!

It’s like Spin, only at right angles to the axis. Something like precession for those who cannot visualize in five dimensions.
Also completely lacking Charm.

"Also completely lacking Charm."
Someone who understands my jokes! WOW! I thought that no-one would see that one. I salute you Sir, and eat marmite at you.
You are hereby awarded access to the kindom of marmiteness under the seventh layer of bovril.

Terry,
It appears that ******* has a very short half-life. Any idea what the decay products are? Photons, I suppose, If it’s an anti-particle.
-
Being an Oxford man myself (Keeble), we have are using the particle accelerator here to determine that. So far we have sat watching it for 27 minutes and are still waiting. I'll let you know if something happens.
-
Please tell us when to laugh then :P :P :D
That is one of the biggest problems with having subtle humour.
Stu
-
Marmite...
I suspect this above word will be replaced by asterisks... Looks like someone is getting clever.
-
It was.
How pathetic. Totally pathetic.
-
Now that the leptonic particle has been assigned a new name of *******, we men of Oxford have devised a new symbol for it: *^7.
From this day hence let it be known!
We took a vote, and the common name for it will be "brown gooey stuff". We're still working on the Latin name.
-
Hello, I noticed that all the posts which have marmite in it have the word crossed out to stars. Why is that?
Cheers Nathanael
-
I suspect that someone "in charge" was worried that the manufacturers of *^7 would take offence when people were saying they didn't like it. Probably he/she/they/it was worried about possible legal consequences.
So they programmed the software for this forum to automatically replace the word with asterisks.
Actually, the entire basis of advertising for *^7 is that people love it or hate it. The TV ads show people running in terror when offered free samples. So I think that changing it to ******* may have been a bit paranoid.
Oh well.
-
Oh, come on, is it forbidden nowadays to have a bit of humour? The word is unbanned by the way, it took you all long enough to notice it :)
-
It's just a pity that it's not April 1st Wout, you'd be crowned Champion right about now :D
Regards.
DJM.

I don't see the problem, we're in small talk, the topic is Marmite.
We can all let our hair down so to speak.. :D

Except me, running rapidly out of that 'novelty' :D
-
sorry djm, I meant that figuratively.. ;D
-
Hehe ;D
I am serious though, ignoring my Avatar ::) :o
-
Letting your hair down in marmite? ugh!
Now that the latin name has been considered it is undergoing the pier review process. The meeting will be held at Ryde, so programming a hvercraft mission for it right now.
Ryde... Pier... Get it? No? Oh well.
-
Ryde... Pier... Get it? No? Oh well.
collective groan from the world of shipping.... :D

Hi Wout.
Actually, I think people noticed straight away, but they were too polite to say anything.
Now, I'm off to frighten people with a plate of sandwiches. Power-crazed? Me? I'm not bovriled by it at all.
May the marmite be with you.

/me remains quiet
Except that ^ :D

The vote has no wbeen taken. The new Latin name is:
Brownus Goous Stinkum Notniceatallus

The Stinkum bit I definitely agree with :P :D
-
Back to the grind now.
I was creating mission number 2 in the series, but I think Mission Editor sank in mid Atlantic. As fast as I added Way Points, it deleted ships from the mission. It might just be editorialising of course. Perhaps it smelled my marmite sandwiches.
-
If I tried to put Marmite anywhere near my PC, it would 'give up the ghost' permanently ;D
Like my TV, it starts crying if any of my family call, and they want to watch a Soap Opera ;)
-
I'm glad to see common sense has prevailed, in this rotten world we live in a bit of light hearted banter makes things much more bearable. Lets face it, the Marmite thread turned out to be the biggest and longest lasting one on the Small Talk forum, surely that tells it's own story? Lets all let a bit of Good Cheer into things and have a jolly good belly laugh for Christmas. ;D ;D ::) And if any more youngsters keep crashing into my ship in Multiplayer I'll give them a good laugh.!!!!! >:( :-*
-
Thanks a lot, Wout.
I spent all day yesterday reformatting and rebuilding my system because I thought I’d caught the anti-Marmite virus!
Merry Christmas,
Marty
