Here's a little quiz for you all.
Guess what happens next, a (virtual) Mars Bar to the winner.
-
I bet the sling broke and the yacht took a dive!!! :o ;)
-
Hey...of course it will fall down on the small rowboat which is just beneath and can not be seen on the picture!!! ;D ;D ;D
Cheers to the drunken sailor!!!

This has allready passed the forum once.
But I am not going to tell what is going to happen ;D
-
De Ja Vu!
There was an arguement between myself (no, honestly!) and someone else about this in relation to the expected repair bills.

When I was once on a ship in Port Louis harbour, Mauritius, we were discharging a Rolls Royce car for the Governor. (Shows how long ago that was) Anyway the sling bust, and the car went for a swim. No one was very pleased about that. :o I believe it was salvaged and returned to the Crewe factory and completely rebuilt.

Ok Sorry if it has been on the forum before I did do a search before posting and didn't find anything. Any way the virtual mars bar goes to Traddles
-
Enjoy Traddles...! :D
-
Thanks Locutus-Mouse, I enjoyed it immensely. I had it as afters this evening. ;D

Traddles,
I’ve been trying to remember the names of the English couple who ran the Merchant Navy Club. Can you help?
I once had a five-day “cruise†in the graving dock there, while the crown gear on the after Voith-Schneider propeller was replaced. It’s a lovely island with great food and gorgeous beaches. The first time I was there, they had just become independent. I’d left San Diego before I got a visa, and had to visit the High Commissioner’s office in Colombo to get one. Memories.

Hi Marty,
Sorry I'm no help to you here. It was in the 50's when I was there, and I never managed to get ashore. As you guessed the island was still a British colony then. Oh hell, thats half a century ago, makes me feel even older than I am. ::) :(

If the prize was a jar of marmite, then I might have made the effort to guess ;)
-
Jonny,
Have a jar of Marmite on me! ;) It makes a tasty consolation prize. ;)

Consolation? ??? STAR prize!
Well, that's a matter of opinion :P :D
-
It is indeed. And as an anti-marmitean, your opinion is not relevant :o
-
::) :P Marmite seems to be infesting the forum......we need a Marmite Moderator to prevent it 'spreading' :D
-
Well, Marmite is so popular... it is everywhere
