I was messing around in the AMD VISION Engine Control Center And my Computer just immediately shut down, I tried to start it in safe mode to fix what I have done but then I can't access the AMD VISION Engine Control Center!
Please help!
-
what were you doing in the vision center?
changing the clock of the graphics card or CPU?
-
I think I was in the graphics... I hope I didn't break it! I'm pretty sure I didn't because it was fine at the speed for quite a while!
-
so can you start the pc normally?
-

Maybe you should take a look inside your PC (by opening the case). :-\
-
but that won't tell him alot...unless there are giant black marks on his Graphics card
-

No, I can't, it shuts off immediately after showint the desktop screen..

My mum won't let me for some reason...

And I hear the GPU running.
-
So you can start it in safe mode without any problems you just can't get into CCC on that?
-
No... I can't do much now, I'm on my laptop now.
-
Does your motherboard have an onboard video chip? If so try booting using that
-
It's a Nvidia chip... :-\ Will that work?
Also, How do I start with an on board chip?
-
well just plug the moniter into the socket which is in the motherboard area of the case
most moniters just use the blue DVI socket

-
Well, My monitor is on but, it isn't recognizing the motherboard chip... Here's my monitor specs: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/monitor/0000/Acer/X213/X213sp2.shtml
-
So you've got your moniter plugged into the motherboard slot but it's still not working?
-
Yes. :'(
-
And you're not allowed to open the case?
-
No. I'll try to get special permission...
-
has it got a warrenty seal on it? If so it would probs be best to return it under warrenty
-
No, it's a custom built PC, Kind of like what Danny is doing...
-
well if you can get 'special' permission then if you take the graphics card out and then try to boot there shouldn't be any reason why it doesn't. If you do get in you can reset the clock to it's default and then put the card back in.
If it works after that then there's no lasting damage, if it doesn't then it's likely you've fried your GPU
-
Nope no permission.
-

You need to open the casing and look inside. Check if the cooling fan on top of the processor has not shifted or become loose. A displaced processor fan causes the computer to shut down soon after it boots.
-
Going to try firing up it again...
-
No luck with the integrated chip... Going to try the normal card.
I have looked inside the window on the side and it seems the CPU fan is in place.
-
Dang it, In other words, I give up.
But I keep getting this error that says
The display driver has stopped responding and recovered.
-
I'm starting to think it was the DVI connector..
Connect the monitor to the VGA port (the blue one) which is connected to the on board video. The DVI port is normally white in color. But remember if you connect it to the VGA port, it completely by passes the graphics card and you will not be able to play SSE.
-
Nope, It's something inside the computer. Same exact thing happens withe the VGA and DVI. The GPUs probably fried... :'(
I did some browsing on YouTube, and I found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBeBR4lkkM8
What is happening in the video is similar to what my PC is doing.

Can you smell anything funny from inside the PC?
-
No... But I can tell the sound of my GPU, and I'm not hearing it.
-
Well, a system restore did the job! The luck of the new year! On to try SSE...
Edit: Dang, when I right click to enter the CCC, The computer freezes again, now I going to access it from the Start menu.
-
Did you already try to update your graphic card drivers?? Maybe there's something wrong with it.
-
I'd suggest reinstalling the CCC, see if that works
-
Ralphy, I can't even get on my PC, it shows a black screen.
-
I'm taking it to my local computer repairman tomorrow.
-
Did you ask Stormforce? I'm 110% sure he will figure out the problem and find a solution.
I'm putting myself in trouble here... ::)
-
From the sounds of it you've cooked either your GPU or more likely your motherboard. The best thing I can suggest is to take it to your PC geek, and let them look at it, they'll either give it a new lease of life or charge you several quaddrillion dollars to get it repaired :(
-
Danny, as I said, I'm taking it to a Computer Repair Service today.
@Gab: I did PM SF last night to tell him I'm taking it to a Computer Repair Service.
-
Bad news, The repair man said he's send my GPU back to the manufacturer... :'( There's one hing in my mind, that means, It's fried! :C
-
but its under warrenty then it should be fixed/replaced by them :D
-
What is the brand and wattage of the PSU (Power supply unit) ?
-
but its under warrenty then it should be fixed/replaced by them :D
The thing is, if you temper with the specifics of it, that warranty will drop off.
-

600Wbut its under warrenty then it should be fixed/replaced by them :D
It's under warrantyThe thing is, if you temper with the specifics of it, that warranty will drop off.
That's not very good...
-
I'm kinda curious to something. You can overclock your CPU succesfull but your GPU get's fried?? ???
So does that mean your only monitoring you CPU, and not your GPU. Or what?? :-\
I'm just curious :D
-
From what I understand he clocked his Graphics card too high, see the picture below.

Oh and before someone say's my GPU isn't working correctly, it Slow's down when not in use
