It was stated in the latest issue of Ship Sim Magazine, confirmed by Vstep.

You drive an Aston... :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Stu is James Bond... ;)
-
A DB9? I Wish!
No. I had a DB7, chopped it in for a Jag X type instead... :( Cheaper, better economy, bigger boot)... But dull as a post by Agent Austin. :o
EDIT: Oh, and I also have a Ve.. :sleepy:..ctra, which is even more bor... :sleepy: :sleepy:

Oh yes, MI6 agents spend an awful lot of time on web forums ::)

You had a DB7???
Wow
Why did you trade it in...
Aston Martin!
-
Something to do with it being 12/13 years old... Even an Aston has its day.
TBH with you, a DB7 is basically a Mondeo floor pan with a Jag XK8 body shell... It has an engine that is made by Ford...
They are a collection of spare parts with an AML badge. You pay for the name, that's all... Servicing is very expensive and they aren't therefore suited to high mileage like a X type.
Would I buy another one? Oh yes... but only when I can get myself a DBS or even nearly new DB9...
-
Makes sense...
-
Makes sense...
Err.. No, it doesn't. That is WHY I traded it in...
-

That is what I meant - it makes sense why you changed ;)
-
I'd like a DBS, but I'd probably end up going for a Caterham or a Clio V6, and do some race preparation... I'm more about speed than comfort...
-
How can you even talk about a clio in the company of 'proper' cars..??
A clio....
-
Don't underestimate the V6, the power to weight of a good, prepped one is simply awesome... I'd like to do something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A60foAe65SM) with it, with some EXTREME slimming down...
Like to see your Aston do that...
-
Without even looking at it, I can guess that it is something that no self-respecting Aston owner would want to try.
It is OK, McG. I won't hold your youth and naivety against you.

I wouldn't want that...
Cars aren;t meant to do that... :-\
-
No, but it's plenty of fun when they do...
Stu, you might want to look at that video, it's the very defintiion of TORQUE.

Really.. :-\
I see crash bang wallop...
-
Bearing in mind these cars usually race on grass...
Edit:
How's this for handling?
Metro 6R4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8bO7OfUgqg&feature=related) and Renault 5 Turbo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt-y_2EYiow&feature=related).
I rest my case.
-
Quite clearly you aren't going to do that in a DB7... ::)
This isn't all that hard though. That car has probably got no weight in the nose, just like a Santa Pod drag car... That said, it appears to have a tad more power than a Mini Metro! ;D
-
see edit.
-
see edit.
The 6R4 wasn't really related to the production Metro and as such Leyland used a bit of a cheat to make it qualify as a rally car. The 5turbo was a big Spambot blouse car and is laughable at best.
-
Okaay then, I never said the 6R4 was even remotely like the road car, but there are a lot of similarities to a Clio V6, and these cars are really about handling. Stupidly big engines are a bonus...
-
Everyone to their own, of course... But I'd find it hard to think of bond driving a clio...
-
ATTENTION EVERYONE!
Guess what Ive got, a large sized image of the SSE cover!

Hello!
WOW it's a cool photo! But i don't know, somehove it's strange.
Aston Martin, Clio... cool cars!
But that i have something like that, i would sell that, and i would by an yacht!! :D
But it's a great car, buy us an yacht if you ahve money :D ;D ( jooking!! )
Good bye!
-
Aston Martin DB7= £80,000, Clio V6=£25,000
Princess P42= >£500,000
and that's the smallest boat they do.
The maths doesn't really add up...
-
Hello!
Hehe, there are cheeper yacht than that... or you can buy the used one...
But if the man is driving the Aston Martin it's clear that he have a lot of money ;D :D he can buy himself an yacht or just an boat.
I would be setisfied with an boat, that when the cruisers come to my town i can get clooser... ;D
Good bye!
-
Its amazing that this once was a discussion on SSE release date. Now we are all talking about cars on a Ship Sim Forum... ??? ;D
-
Well it's pretty much resolved now, it's June 6th 2010(we hope!)
If Vstep changes it, I'm sure this topic will be put to better use (assuming it isn't dead by then!)
And I wouldn't buy a yacht second hand, There are a lot of have-a-go nouveau riche who buy big yachts, and drive them with no experience of ship handling at all...
They wonder why the boat breaks and sell it on cheap...

Isn't an off topic post much better than pointless prattling on about items that we can not affect anyway...
Pretty much what Mr McG said, but less diplomatically put ;)
-

Completely Agree :)
-
So, back to cars.
Ferrari launched their new F1 car today, and Ken Block unveiled his new WRC Fiesta recently...
-
I'll move this to Small Talk, where talking about non-Ship Simulator related things is less frowned upon. Because I'm so kind.
But perhaps you'd be so kind as to read this: http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,11578.0.html

You're all heart.
-
I was about to lock my topic, (which was just a bit of a joke), when I realized I couldn't ..
How fitting to move the topic from Small Talk to Tiny Talk..
Thanks Terry, it's a perfect match..
-
So Stu, what's your DREAM car?
-
Some say he is in secret contact with The Borg, and he sometimes wears a pink tutu in public..
-
So Stu, what's your DREAM car?
My dream car? One with blue flashing lights that doesn't have to stop for those annoying* traffic lights and stuff
* Got to be careful using the description 'annoying'. Cadet will think they're related to him.

Like this?
-
That would about do it, yes! ;D
Alternatively, a Jag E type, DB5 or even a DeLorean... Something 'unusual' (and no, that doesn't mean a 'reliable lada'!)
-
Please tell me that is trick photography and not really a screwed up DL.
It was bad enough when they destroyed several for that awful series of films about that time travelling kid, whats his name? Michael J Fox or something...
-
Amazon.co.uk have changed their release date to June 4th 2010.
-
Amazon release dates, as previously discussed, are about as reliable as a Government prediction on global warming.
-
I agree but this is more nearer the date than previous,I think they may have got it right.
-
No, if they had got it right it would say 6th June 2010
-
That would about do it, yes! ;D
Well that would happen to be my favourite car, ever.
And since when has Amazon got things right?
-
What is it? Evo?
-
Skyline GT-R R34, Pace Car.
I spit at the word, 'evo'...
-
Yes it was, the GTR Pace car is unlocked by winning the Real Circuit Tours championship in the extreme hall. I have literally hundreds of pics of it...
Unfortunately no real life replica exists that I know of, but if I had the money, I'd build it.
I use it for drifting, mainly...
