Title: Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time
Post by: saken41 on August 13, 2007, 15:48:34
I bought this game ages ago back in 1996... both disc 1 & disc 2 is still working and none of them has no scratches at all. The manual is in the game box as well. So, anyone have this old GREAT game :)?

Yes, I completely agree :D, Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time is a AWESOME game ;)! I still play it, even after 11 years, I still play it :). But 1 thing I want to know :-\, can't you steer her (Titanic) off course and prevent the collision with the iceberg ???? If I try, Morrow just throw me out of there, he doesn't know that I actually try to save the doomed ship :'(...

It really is :o! When I'm up in the smokestack (The last 4th funnel) when it happens, Zetiel is trying to take Willie's notebook.

You are a secret agent onboard the doomed Titanic, to obtain 3 things, but do not search for the 3 important things too long, because time is running out, the game Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time was first released 1994, but don't let the age of the game fool you, the graphics is both 2D AND 3D, the graphics is AWESOME for it's age (1994-1996). Click the link in the beginning of this topic to watch the trailer ;)

I watched the trailer but thought being a trailer they would probably make the graphics look good. Sounds like a good game, shame I don't have it  :'(

Third Officer Morrow, he's responsible for the collision with the iceberg >:(, I gave him his binoculars, but STILL he couldn't avoid a collision >:(! But I think hw did his best :'(, Captain Smith was asleep after all... so Morrow did his best, "Hard to Starboard!" "Full Speed Astern!". He must have said that...

Does anyone actually know who was on watch at the time? I only ask since the logs were never recovered, and the film puts Murdoch taking the watch from Second Officer Lightoller.

Carlson: "Shouldn't you warn the captain?"

Morrow: "He has retired for the evening, Murdoch's in charge now..."

I think Murdoch saw the iceberg, but Morrow must have given orders to turn as well, both Murdoch and Morrow are officers.

Most of it, some of it is off limits. You can get round most of it, including the Turkish Baths, the Swimming Pool, squash court, First Class reception room, dining rooms, all decks, engine rooms, Scotland Road etc etc. Both Grand Staircases (Fore and Aft) are accessible, so if the First Class smoking room. The Second Class staircase is also accessible, as are first, second and third class cabins. As said before, you can even get up into the fourth funnel. You can EVEN get to the Veranda Cafe, the Purser's Office and the bridge and wireless room! (You can even listen to and send wireless communications!)

You can either play Story mode or Tour the ship.

No matter what I try, I can't get this to run on Vista.  :'(

Will try XP.

Anyone know how to fix the error? (attached, someone else's screenie, but same problem).

PS. I have tried EVERY compatibility setting under the sun. I would set up a Win 95/ Win 98 Virtual Machine to run it on, if I had a copy of either of them.  :'(

Does Microsoft Virtual machine require you to have the original OS's? Or can it run them without the originals?

Sounds like it may be a compatibility issue, have you tried compatibility options in the shortcut properties?

I still have this game! Well, I lost the CDs again. Not to worry, they are around here somewhere...

Orinoco, can you really get into the swimming pool, dining rooms? I never could.

I'd say that in reality, only a small percentage is "explorable". That is, if you count every cabin, every hallway, and every room. It's not like you can just walk into any cabin you want. But, it's still fun!
I remember when I first played the game.. It was kind of "awe-inspiring". But, I didn't have my own computer at the time  :(  I had to bother other people to use their computers  :P

Just to let you know folks, that it works in XP AND Vista!  :D

Set the compatibility to 'Windows NT', with 256 colours and 640x480 resolution, and it will work fine. Interestingly, it works better on Vista than XP.

Personally, I much prefer it over XP now. It has its niggles and its own charm (and some days, I hate it to bits) but for the most part, it's a far more competent OS than XP.
