Title: Apologies to Germany
Post by: Stuart2007 on December 02, 2009, 20:20:59
I realise this should be in the German forum, but I can't speak German and many Germans can speak English.

I would like to apologise to Germany for all the Lowenbrau that I've just consumed. And I hope Germany still has some lager left somewhere.

Tomorrow, I shall be apologising for the amount of Rennie, Lucazade and dog hair that I've taken to cure this problem this evening.

You may even have been in Dover-Calais in the Same Environment...

Anyone who sails in a straight line in DCINSE is mad... there's ships, sandbanks, boats and France in the way.

BTW I was watching 'Sea Patrol' last night... With the Anglian Monarch... I didn't know the GBCG is privatised!!!

He? Real Germans won't drink that stuff, especially not those, coming from the North. There are several higher grades available, so your apologies should be directed to the people from Bavarian only!  ::)

Don't know about Heinken refreshing the parts other beers don't reach, but I bet the bond girl will

Bottman,
I tried speaking in my very limited German vocabulary, but as it's a travelling exhibition across all Europe (and Britain), only one person was actually German- the rest looked bemused at my German attempts; based on their language patterns, I'd say most were Eastern European such as Slovaks, Czechs and Polish (at least I can speak Polish and a bit of Hungarian)

uuhh a beer conversation, if you want to try great beer, try the faroese beer, it's really great, has won many awards, but danish beer is great too.
Btw did any of you see the new beer from Scotland Tactical Nuclear Penguin, apparently it has a volume on 32%, too high in my opinium.

Bottman,

I notice that you refer to Bavarians as 'them' in the same as English refer to Scottish or Welsh as 'that lot'... Is there really a pronounced rivalry between Bavaria and the rest of Germany?

BTW... I always assumed that it was Germany that first went for cold lager; but now I'm told that it is traditional to be only 5 degrees below room temperature. I noticed that people were drinking it in a more relaxed fashion than the muppets in the nearby 'spoons' who were downing their nearly-frozen Stella at X gallons per hour.

??? Also, for some odd reason, when I awoke this morning, I had QWERTY... imprinted on my forehead... Very strange  ???

Yepp, it is the same here: Germany and Bavaria - two sides of the same coin. The true promise of drinking beer in Germany means, that it has to last at least 7 minutes to fill the glass from the beer barrel. It is not that fast-beer-culture as unsual in other countries! Strange, eh!?

7 minutes to pour it??? :o

Can always try Gluhwein... As long as you don't mind dying right after! Easier to drink concrete  ;D

I would also like to predict that Capt. Cadets (there, incidentally is an oxymoron for whoever wanted to know what an oxymoron is (and no, it has nothing to do with being a moron!)) translation on the German forum was inaccurate and gets deleted.

I would also like to predict that Stuart2007 calls CC a well meaning, but less than perfect translator, CC never tries to translate again for me without asking first, and that we all live happily ever after again.*

*Except TFM who is still awaiting DCINSE...
