Suggest some Record breaking ships for Ship Sim.
Like largest container or largest cruise liner.

10 minutes ago, oasis of the seas was the largest. But within an hour, who knows?

World's Largest Crude Carrier Jahre Viking. She is the record breaker of largest ship before Oasis of the Seas came. Jahre Viking was said to be scrapped by the shipbreakers sometime from now. Ship Sim would keep her memory alive if she is scrapped, like Ship Sim kept Titanic alive when she sank. So my suggestions for SS08:
VLCC Jahre Viking (Knock Nevis)
MV Oasis of the Seas
RMS Queen Mary 2
RMS Queen Elizabeth 2
MS Queen Elizabeth 3
and finally, Titanic's Hospitalic sister, HMHS Britannic.
Pictres in order:

Britannic is shrouded by Titanic's fame but is not forgotten.

Of course! I was very lazy to go search for what has been already posted, so I proudly corrected your post.
I didn't like that Oasis image, so I used my favourite one!
Besides, the copyright of images that you used in your post doesn't say that only you are allowed to use them!

My suggestion
Have you completed the Pacific crossing alone in that yacht, Terry?

Knock Nevis WIN!

On that 1st image after the Emma Maersk the 3rd ship should be the TI class tankers (LOA = 380 meters)

Oh well, How long is the Latitude?
-
314 meters

Thanks
-
My favourite tanker, the French built Batillus and her 3 sisters :o
(http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7977/batillus.jpg) (http://img3.imageshack.us/i/batillus.jpg/)
(http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/1610/batillustankerinsaintna.jpg) (http://img37.imageshack.us/i/batillustankerinsaintna.jpg/)
414m long, and still today the biggest ships ever constructed by gross tonnage. The last one was scrapped in 2003 :(
-
I wonder, why one of them was scrapped in 6 years after entering the service? 2 other - like in 10 years?
-
MY Fave British admiral, Launched in my home town of barrow in furness

I dont think that chart is right because even the Titanic is bigger than the Empire state building and the chart says Knock nevis is just as tall as Empire state.

Go check Titanic's length & come back here!

Jahre Viking wasn't scrapped, Matt.
-
How big was titanic? :P I forget
-
882 1/2 i think
-
no there was a 7 somewhere that much I do remember
-
882' 9".
-
sure?
-
You're really going to ask an avid member of the TRMA if he's sure? ;D
-
I dont think that chart is right because even the Titanic is bigger than the Empire state building and the chart says Knock nevis is just as tall as Empire state.
The CN Tower is missing from that chart.
-
Ok yes Shanes right, its 882ft. 9inch.
Its weird my book said 882 1/2 Ft
-
mine said 1/2 too :/
-
Because people aren't careful during research, that's one of the most common mistakes people make.
-
My book is 882 1/2 Questions and answers about the titanic
-
Go check Titanic's length & come back here!
oops sorry  but i read a book that says it is bigger than the empire states :-\
-
Are you sure it wasnt the Chrystler Building? Thats what mine says!
-
Are you sure it wasnt the Chrystler Building? Thats what mine says!
even if it was the Chrystler Building, Titanic is still smaller by 12 meters and about 50 meters including Antenna/Spire
and the building did not even exist back at the titanic`s time line
-
This isn't a Titanic topic guys, and I dont even think she was a record breaker
-

*no disrespect intended*

I had a PowerPoint presentation in work last week, something to do with pep management talk or whatever they were trying to tell us (I was not paying attention) there was a line which said:
"Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic."
What kind of idiot picked that up and used it in our PowerPoint presentation? Obviously someone was trying to be clever and impress the boss! ::)
-
"Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic."
That should be other way round! ;D
-
That should be other way round! ;D
lol, I wanted to make a point of Titanic sinking on her maiden voyage, so how can that be professional, but decided not to speak up in case I got into trouble! ;D

~£75
Just over 90 quid, actually.
I didn't realise how far the USD had dropped. WELL below natural market position... It WILL rise back up... Methinks now is a good time to invest in USD- it is well under valued. Would be nice if it were 75 quid, TFM.

Whoa that has dopped - I always rembeberd that a dollar was about twice as much as a pound - ie you divide dollers by two to get pounds
How times change...
-
if you divide something that is twice as much by two, you usually do get your starting value... Try it- it works on a whole range of numbers...
I remember when the pound was low in 87... I foget what the rate was, but it was a flipping expensive trip there!
-
Ferry Man, I think what you should have said is you thought a dollar was HALF as much as a pound. :o
