Very nice pics Austin! Are they all just straight from the camera? Or are they edited as well?
Jack :)
-
1-6 are not edited
-
I really liked that last one. (By the way, what does 56K warning mean?)
-
For 56K users (dial-up) since there are many pics and it could cause them to commit suicide if because it takes to long to load.

So if I have many pictures in a a topic I should say "56K warning!"?
Edit: Typo

You don't have to, but it is nice.

Well my D40 is the cheapest DSLR that Nikon makes, so I don't think we can compare them. :)

3 hour shutter speed?
My camera can only do 30 second as the longest.
Get a cable release and switch to the "BULB" setting and that allows for unlimited exposure to the life of the battery. BULB is usually under full manual settings under shutter speed, take a look ;)

What about a Remote Shutter release?
-
essentially the same thing i believe, i've seen it called cable release as its on a cable and just allows you to control the shutter and autofocus like the normal button on the camera just no shaking or anything.

I have a remote, they are good. I wondered if I can get longer shutter time

I am not a photographs expert and I do not have superior cameras etc, but I like to take pictures with my regular digital camera (Canon powershot A590 IS - I know that because it;s written on it...). And sometimes I get a lucky shot, which appears better then I expected. I hope you like them, since they aren't as good as pictures as yours all...
1st is one I made last summer while working on a bunker barge, it;s one of my collegues.
2nd is my car, I only searched for a nice angle to take this photo the day I bought the car, and somehow I got the sun in it nicely as well.
3rd are 2 collegues during the same job as 1st photo. Again, accidentally got the sun into it.
4th is actually an insurance photo because some (insert flame here) dropped something on my car's window. After my car was repaired and I didn't rage anymore, I started to like this picture.
-
I like the second one, even if it is a silly european car.

Try full manual, with just shutter priority I can only get 30 on my D40.

I have a model of the Cullamix as well!!!
Let me get a picture for you! :) - My Model is 62 Years old, and was built by a Friend. I am currently "Gutting" it, so I can put some new electronics in - as unfortunately the old gear is simply too old now.

Several are processed as HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos. Most are taken with my current Nikon DSLR, and a few were taken with a couple older Pentax point-and-shoots. (In case you're wondering, pictures 10, 12 and 13, from the top down, were taken at a beach on Lake Michigan.)
-
Wow, those are amazing, really like the train one.
I am still trying to figure our HDR, since my D40 dosn't have a mode for taking 3 photos at different exposers.
-

I am still trying to figure our HDR, since my D40 dosn't have a mode for taking 3 photos at different exposers.
Oh you have a D40? That's the same model I have!
For my HDRs, I usually shoot in RAW format, with "P" mode selected, and exposure comp set differently for each exposure... Unfortunately this can take a bit longer than with a camera that can do the different exposures automatically, so I have to use a tripod... Here's an example of my exposure comp. settings for, say, 3 exposures:
Bright exposure: +4.0
Normal exposure: 0.0
Dark exposure: -4.0
As I said, you have to change the exposure comp. setting before each exposure.
You could also do a faux-HDR from one RAW exposure, I believe. Sometimes you can achieve a nice effect. A couple of the pictures I put up in my last post were made from a single exposure, but it does involve a bit of tweaking. For HDRs, I use Photomatix to put the exposures together and to create the final photo.
EDIT: The pictures that look like HDR but were made from single exposures are the beach photos and the train photo.
-
I figured the train photo because it is a moving object and changing settings in-between would be hard. :p
I'll try it tommorow.
-
Awesome photos Hudizzle!,
I like to take photo's, but I've only got your average "Family Camera", so I can't get Fantastic ones.

alrighty, as many people know the eastern portion of the US got hit with a snow storm of sorts. Right downt the street from me there was the classic vehicle vs. pole. Pole won... but sustained damage ::) take a look, the driver was ok.

Yea a small lense...I'd want many the canon im most likely getting has a 100MM lense so that should suit me its a point and shoot but a 500 dollar point and shoot so should suit my needs with out having to carry around a tri-pod and other accessories :)

power was out for 20 minutes for the power company to work on the dang pole, they didn't replace it. Not sure what they did, i'll find out tommorow.

That first photo with the snow blowing and the back of the truck raised a little, looks like you caught it at the moment of impact. lol

haha, kinda does but i didn't. Not sure when it happened as i had just gotten home and there was nothing there and i looked outside maybe 10 minutes later and the first responders where already there. There was alot of wind and i figured the blowing snow would make for neat shots, i have clear ones too :P
