I have been wodering if anyone would make a mission with the Ocean Star in Phi Phi here is the info :
The port authority in Phi Phi has made a prefab dock out of barges (2 or 3 barges linked together in the bay and anchored of course) to try and buffer the flow of people onto the island via the Ferry (Red Jet) and to act as a port for the Pilot boat to act from. (Preferably in the bay of Hin Dot) ;)
I would make this mission myself but the mission editor runs really slow so it gets Very Frustrating. >:(
Have a look at my Flickr site : http://www.flickr.com/photos/26168844@N07/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/26168844@N07/)

What do you mean by “runs slow The ME should not be any slower than the simulator on your system.
Such a trivial “mission" should not take you more than 10 to 20 minutes to create. In fact, as you have described it, it is not a complete mission; it would not be accepted by the CMMs.
Creators have their own ideas for missions; they don’t need to do something that you should be able to do for yourself.

Yeah i dont knw what it is i do have a good system and SS08 runs smoothly but the Mission Editor wont it is very puzzeling ???
And what do you mean by not complete
1) You get the pilot to the Ocean Star
1.1) Dock the pilot boat at the barges
2) Navigate Around Hin Dot in the Ocean Star
2.1) Dock the Ocean Star at the Peir (2 barges)
3) Ferry Passengers from the barges to the land (Red Jet)
3.1) Dock the Ferry Back at the Peir
4) The Ocean Star leaves the peir
4.1) The pilot boat retreives the Pilot from the ocean star
4.2) Return the pilot to the Peir
4.3) Navigate the Ocean Star to a point on the map
4.4) MISSION COMPLETE
Or you could add more to the Mission Like Starting in San Fran and going over the Pacific and then arriving to Phi Phi then returning to a Harbour.

Does your system match the minimum requirements?

Yes my system meets the requirements and i have a 256 Graphics card 1Gb of RAM ???
Well put it this way I can run Fsx, World In Conflict, Company of Heroes, Sins of a Solar Empire, Medieval 2 Total War and lots of other games without a hitch but the editor wont run that good. Dont get me wrong it does run but it is just very annoying when trying to make a mission. ;D

Well that just comes to show how awesome the editor is. ;D

It may be because you are veiwing most of the enviroment.

Maybe but I don't think that is the case.

You still have not explained what it is that “runs slowâ€. Tell me, in detail, what you are trying to do.
You did not specify in your first post where you wanted the ships to go. It is not a mission unless it has at least one waypoint for the player ships.
Unless you can explain what your problem is, you can’t expect much help.

If I am correct Marty, I believe he is just talking about general lag.

Yes thats it the editor lags alot when i am making a mission. ::)
And what do you mean by no waypoints i stated them above. ???
-
You didn’t state waypoints in your first post.
What specifically “lags
Unless you get serious about giving details about your trouble, I won’t waste any more time with you. You should ask for help in Technical Support.
-
All this post was is to give out a suggestion to the people who would make the misssion
The mission editor itself lags all the lime
As for Waypoints
Ocean Star Waypoints :
1. Navigate the ocean star into the bay of Hin Dot
2. Bring the Ship into posistion next to the Peir
3. Moor the ship to the peir
4. Rellease the mooring lines and cast off
5. Sail to a piont (and could continue to another area e.g San Fran and dock their like a small cruise)
Pilot Boat Waypoints :
1. Release the mooring lines and make your way to the ocean star to deliver the pilot
2. Deliver the Pilot to the ocean star (When ocean star is still off the coast.
3. Return the pilot boat to the peir.
4. Moor the pilot boat.
5. Wait for the ocean star to leave the dock then when out of the Bay go and collect the Pilot
6. Head back to the the Peir (barges)
7. moor the vessel to the peir
Red Jet Waypoints (When the Ocean Star has Docked) :
1. Release the mooring lines
2. Ferry people from the Peir (barges) to the small wooden peir (1 or 2 times)
3. Dock the ship at the Peir (barges) and moor the ship

maybe someone can write scenario in hamburg harbour with:
1)fishing vessel and tugboat
2)vermaas, pilot and tugs
3)ferrys
-
Hi chaps.
I have to agree with Marty. I wouldn't create a half-mission for anyone else. I doubt that many of the serious creators would do it, either.
So Dtrford12, why not post your DXdiag in Technical Support and then we can see how/if we can get your PC to not have jerky images. Then you can create any missions you want.
-
Okey well i just thought that it was a good idea for someone to make a mission like this thats all. ;D
-
But why not get your problem fixed? It wil also affect your game, so it's well worth the effort.
