Well, it's offically December. Which means that Christmas is only 0 day(s) away! And note that this post will be updated each day for the offical countdown to Christmas. ;D
I've been preparing for Christmas since the beginning of November.
So, is anybody up for singing Christmas carrols? :)
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from TheTitanicExpert!!
EDIT: this post will be locked on Boxing Day (Canada). :(
-
23 sleeps isn't it? I get confused
On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, a Partridge in a Pear tree!
-
On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me,
two slimy frogs,
and a Partridge in a pear tree.
(She really has no idea what to get me for Christmas)

23 sleeps isn't it? I get confused
On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, a Partridge in a Pear tree!
Here's one:
Dashing through the snow, on a pair of broken skis, over the hills we go, crashing into trees, ow, ow!!
The snow is turning red; I think I'm nearly dead, somebody better call 911 before I lose my head!
-
Yay Its christmas, Get ready for a good time ;D :)
-
Baaah Humbug :P
Me and my pal Scruge are going out for a Christmas meal soon ;D
-
hehe In celebration of Christmas.....
I'm going to dress my tug (Hibernia) up with Christmas lights!
I'll send a picture when they are on :D
Jack.
-
We got our (artificial) tree up yesterday. :)
-
We celebrate Yule, on 21st December. It is very traditional.
On 21st we exchange presents and the stuff ourselves with food. After that we drink ourselves stupid and lay on the floor for two weeks.
Just like most of the rest of the UK, ony we get there first. (Older traditions)
-
Maybe VSTEP will give us a christmas present.
-
Squirrels are chewing the wires of the lights on my house ::) Now only about half of them are working. It's really annoying.
-
...Now only about half of them are working.
The squirrels, or the lights? :P

Those trees look like there from Dollarama.
-
Christmass isn't on my mind yet.
I still got 12 days of stuying ahead of me to pass my exams for my last year in highschool.
But on the 15th of december the stress will be over ;D
-
The squirrels, or the lights? :P
Ha Ha! :D The lights!
-
I also have to study for my last year exams, not before I'm finished I can think about christmas preparations
-
Well, it's offically December. Which means that Christmas is only 24 days away! And note that this post won't be updated each day for the offical countdown to Christmas.
I've been preparing for Christmas since the beginning of November. Now, I'm real excited. We're going to get our Christmas tree possibly this weekend. I can't wait to decorate it!
So, is anybody up for singing Christmas carrols?
At least some of us are showing some festive spirit!
There is a good Vista sidebar countdown widget for days 'til Christmas
-
Just listening to samba de janeiro, at christmas, he he...
-
Artificial? Why not a real tree?
Have you seen the Mess they make ;D
For 3 months after you're constantly stabbing your feet on bits of tree :P
-
Have you seen the Mess they make ;D
For 3 months after you're constantly stabbing your feet on bits of tree :P
It's called vacuming.
-
Have you seen the Mess they make ;D
For 3 months after you're constantly stabbing your feet on bits of tree :P
And the real ones are potentially poisonous to cats!
-
Have you seen the Mess they make ;D
For 3 months after you're constantly stabbing your feet on bits of tree :P
Don't they sell Dyson's in Germany?
-
It's called vacuming.
I think you mean vacuuming, and I don't think that vacuuming constantly for a few days is a nice way to relax after christmas. We just pack up the tree and put it away for next year ;)
-
Quick blast with a Dyson and everything is fine, picks up bits of Christmas Cake, wrapping paper, tree needles and a lot lot more! All ready for Burn's Night.....
-
I think you mean vacuuming, and I don't think that vacuuming constantly for a few days is a nice way to relax after christmas. We just pack up the tree and put it away for next year ;)
Well, it's better than having a no good fake Christmas tree. Some of them cost more than a real tree. How redicious!
-
I suppose, but fake trees are reusable
On the 8th day of christmas my true love sent to me (Help me out here)
-
I suppose, but fake trees are reusable
You have a fake turkey and fake presents too do you?
:'( :'( :'(
-
No, that would be stupid
-
Thank you, exactly the same as a non recyclable tree...
End of story.
Happy Christmas to all our readers.
-
They are recyclable, you can use them the next year and the next year instead of cutting down trees each year.
On the 9th day of Christmas...
-
We have a couple of recyclable Christmas/Yule trees. But we leave them growing in the garden.
-
Our real trees are recycled by the council into free compost which is great for growing plants in!! Better than sending a plastic tree to land fill...
-
We just decorate the trees in their own home (the garden), rather than drag them into ours. ;)
-
Same here as far as the real ones go, but I also set up a fake one in the house, just for that 'cosey xmas feel' it gives. The house looks weird without a tree, but with all sorts of other decorations.
But I used to work in the warehouse of a company that makes christmas decorations, including fake trees, and as a xmas bonus one year, we got the top of the line fakey, and I swear, you cannot tell unless you go right up to it, I mean, inches. It even came with a bunch of spraycans with 'xmas tree smell'. (that ran out in the meanwhile of course, but worked really good.) ;D
Got it now for, well, maybe 12 years, and it still looks as good as the first day. And it's not plastic, but a fabric of some kind. It's a pain to set up, as you have to take every single branch and extend and unfold it and make it look real. (it folds up in to a small bundle, but fully erect and unfolded it is huge)
I won't tell you what it costs to buy one of those, but be sure that I never would have spent that kinda money on it and am surprised at how high sales were. But as a bonus, it was very nice. In fact, all my decorations are bonuses, I worked there for 4 years, and got enough decorations out of it to last me 10 more years. ;D
-
Our 'fakey' cost $600, witch has paid for itself in the last 4 years, since we don't have to buy real ones every year. It is top of the line also, you can really only tell if you go under the tree and look at the "trunk"...
+ It is pre-lit so we don't have to mess with tangled lights.
-
I have to wrestle with the tangled lights, cause this tree is just the tree.. well.. 100+ bits that make the tree..
But isn't that frustration and yelling at the string of lights part of the fun too? ;D
-
Trees with beautifull lights, lots of food and many gifts..
What a wonderous time to be jolly.. ;D
-
saturday we will be putting up our fakey ::) A long process because like fred we have to unfold all the branches then put the bigger branch on the main post ::) We always do the lights by hand, the fakey is like 10 years old and looks very good still. ;D
-
As only a child i enjoy untangling the lights for the tree and decorating it is a wonderful thing to do with your family.
-
As only a child i enjoy untangling the lights for the tree and decorating it is a wonderful thing to do with your family.
Well we got sick of lights not working.
The main thing is in that room we have 24 foot tall ceiling, our artificial tree is still only 23 feet tall. But a real tree, would tip over. We use to have one that tall that was real, we had to tie it to the ceiling!
-
Us RMS Titanic freaks need something, too! ;D
Give us something, Vstep!
-
Austin - Is that one of those fibreoctic (don't know spelling) trees?
I personally don't like them as much as one with proper lights on :P
-
Put our's up a few days ago, had a battle trying to get it to stay up straight, it has always been a "problem" ;D Anyway, you get what you pay for :D, at the end of the day, it only comes out for a few days in the year, so whats the point in spending a fortune on one :D
Jack.
-
Well, good news is we finally found the musical light set we couldn't find last year at Christmas. That will make our tree less boring.
-
We just decorate the trees in their own home (the garden), rather than drag them into ours. ;)
My father has three small trees and one large one next to his house. Each year in December, he strings up lights on them (with help from my brother, sister and I of course).
-
Just put up our tree! If your wondering it's a fakey
-
we just put ours up today too i got pics but they're too big to both with uploading ::)
-
Our three won't come up until 20 december probably, too many kids running arouund and we don't wont the three too fall down
-
We put our tree up today.

Hehe, I recognise that.
In here, the fire department collects all the real treas and they start a big fire with them in the middle of the town.
Then everybody gathers around and we drink a lot of genever ;D
There is nothing that tastes better then a bottle of applegenever when its cold! ;)
-
I like our fake tree because it's new and takes 10 minutes to set up. And it's so real looking a lot of people have mistaked it for a real one. It's just great because you put it up and don't have to worry about tending too it.
-
We're getting our tree set up today and will be decorating in a couple of days.
-
Lights are on the tree in the front garden but still haven't bought an inside tree
-
our tree is up, all the lights are on, the ornaments, all the lights and decorations inside, and all the lights outside, my house glows at night :D
-
hehe In celebration of Christmas.....
I'm going to dress my tug (Hibernia) up with Christmas lights!
I'll send a picture when they are on :D
Jack.
I'm doing the same thing with my model ship, the RMS Canada.

I live in northern Ontario, haftway between Toronto and North Bay in a town called Gravenhurst. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter with lots of snow.
And that this year, Toronto broke a record for most rainfall during the summer.

-
Merry Xmas all :)
-
Do other countries celebrate boxing day?
-
Yes
-
Do they? well you learn something new everyday! :D
-
Yes
I'd always thought that Boxing Day was a particularly Victorian English thing. Who else celebrates it?
Certainly not the Scots. They get Jan 2nd as a holiday, to make up for not having 26th as a holiday.
-
Well that was what I thought, Boxing day just being a very english celebration. I know, Ill search wikipedia....
EDIT: They say and I quote:
'Boxing Day, December 26th, is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia (excluding South Australia), and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. It is based on the tradition of giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society. Contemporary Boxing Day in many countries is now a "shopping holiday" associated with after-Christmas sales.
The day is historically the British name for St Stephen's Day, 26 December, which is a public holiday in many countries with predominantly Christian populations. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, St Stephen's Day is celebrated on the 27th of December, although in Greece Boxing Day (Synaxis Theotokou, Σύναξις Θεοτόκου) is also celebrated as a public holiday on the 26th of December.[citation needed] However, unlike St Stephen's Day, Boxing Day is not always on 26 December (see below).
It is usually celebrated on the 26th of December, the day after Christmas Day[1][2]; however, its associated public holiday can be moved to the next weekday if the 26th of December is a Saturday or Sunday. The movement of Boxing Day varies between countries.'
So basically members of the commonwealth, except south australia wierdly.
-
OK, thanks.
Even though it is from Mistakeopedia, it sounds very feasible.

Those $%^&* reindeer tore the &*^% out of my roof. My living room is full of snow.
Don’t even ask what Marley’s ghost did.
I hope Christmas goes a lot better for the rest of you, and that ’09 doesn’t turn out to be another bummer.
