^ Interesting

We already have a forum topic talking about Titanic II. It's a very exciting project... but something about it seems a little disrespectful. It's like a tragic disaster was romanticized into a tall tale in 1997 and recreated in modern era. I like the idea of an old-style ocean liner in service, but it seems kind of absurd to recreate just a specific one. The least people could do is stop with the tacky "king of the world" thing. :P

Now if there was a cruise line that only built ships that were in the style of ocean liners past, that would be great!

Not to sound cliched, but what a long, strange, trip it's been.

I'm wondering if it's possible for a China-built, Austrailia-owned ocean liner to get a contract with Britain's Royal Mail service for the ship prefix RMS, and obtain Liverpool as a port of registry? If not, I wonder if Great Britain would at least be willing to allow Titanic II those two factors as honorary traits?

Having Liverpool as PoR wouldn't be a problem if the ship complies with the UK flag state requirements.

On the deliveries we often fly the St. Vincent flag, while our HQ is on the other side of the world

You have to get used to it, most of the cruise ships will look like this for a very long time,
but it will of course eventually change (i hope)

Wikipedia (rarely correct) says the Quantum ots will be delivered by Fall 2014 and the Anthem ots by Spring 2015 And another (not yet named) by Summer 2016. Note: They won't be as large as the Oasis class.

So the future is bright for RCI in my eyes :)

If there are any religious people on the forum could you please have a word with your god and ask him / her to turn the wind down a little bit in the South China Sea?

The last time I was in the South China Sea, the radar scanner was blown off it's foundation.

That was during a STS with a 31m harbour tug that sufferered from megalomania. It makes Deadliest Catch look like a bunch of scissy's

Hi Eric,

When I googled the Grampian Dee, this one came up but I guess it's the 2nd, or perhaps 3rd, vessel that carries the Grampian Dee.

I want your job.

You can have it!

We were supposed to be leaving the rig and heading back into port today, but it looks like we are staying for yet another day *we were originally supposed to leave last Friday, but that all went wrong, we will be going soon though as all we have left to give to the rig is a few tons of brine.  Vung Tau for Saturday night, I don't think the first beer will touch the sides.

There was a Mallard duck sitting near Greysolon Plaza like it owned the place today. It was weird, nobody else seemed to notice.

Happy birthday! ;D

And a birthday cookie would be nice. Is it a giant cake-sized cookie?

Out doing some maintenance with the MVS today. I was watching a speedboat zipping in and out of the moorings at more than 20kn, and 5 minutes later he'd slowed down to about 5-10kn when suddenly he stopped dead in the water. Run over a mooring buoy and tangled the prop ::)

Can't say I wasn't laughing when I cruised over in the inflatable to see if he was OK.
