And taking an assumed name and website for a fictional company, where such an url might already be in use by a real company, isn't smart either.

Just thinking.. Did VSTEP actually do that? Since there is also a website called 'ChannelFerries.com' or similar, but it is ChannelFerries..

It'll be alright :P

it's no laughin matter actually, you do realise the potential problems that can develop if people just start reskinning stuff willy-nilly, specially with exsisting liveries, and if such reskinned ships of owners that gave no permission to have their liveries used, end up on youtube in sinking clips, for example..?

Do we want to see this turn into VS?  ::)

Seriously, the EULA is there for a reason. Some people have found out the hard way what violating them can result in. You do this at your own risk. Easy as that. It's being discussed what to do with this and if you're on the wrong end of the stick when the verdict is in, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Ye be warned.  ;)

Did VSTEP get permission to use 'Channel Ferries'?

Does that alter anything in the EULA?  No it does not.

We could take steps to prevent people being a smartbum about it, whilst we wait for the official word on this, if that's what you'd rather have us do?

simple way around it, when making the game make it so these files can't be changed. Pretty silly if you ask me anyway to leave the Condor Ferries livery in there, along with others ::)

Nobody is actually asking you, but it is pretty silly fooling about with the liveries just to show how clever you are. I would take heed of Freds comments if I were you. Not everyone is thrilled with this kind of childishness.

Again, the EULA does not permit you to change it. Are you really not getting the point? Who cares what CAN be done,.... it's about what is NOT ALLOWED. You can drive faster than the speed limit in most cars.. so everyone should just do it, and if they do and get caught, the car manufactorer is to blame??

Anything can theoretically be cracked/hacked/modded..  that's not the point at all.

This is the last we'll say about it, Vstep will decide, and any more of this and you'll notice that it's not a game we're playing here. You agreed to the EULA when you installed the game. You are bound by those rules, end of story.

Unless Vstep decides - if they ever do - that this rule is to be interpreted otherwise, it.. simply.. is..not... allowed.

I can't make it any clearer.

Fred.

Top Gear <3

My Favourite episode is Season 6 episode 6 when

Hammond and May Takes the Queen of Scandinavia to Kristiansand and race to Oslo while Clarkson
takes his Mercedes and race to Norway going France to Sweden and then Norway  :2thumbs:

And I love the episode, the latest i think.. when It's Top Gear UK VS Top Gear Australia  :2thumbs:
I laughed my belly off
