That's what I did.  The only time he actually told me to do something that wasn't like "Now you don't know the route so just drop down to N2." was when I missed a wistle post.

Later on we got quite a scare, There was some one in the middle of the tracks reading a magazine.  No matter how much I blew the horn he wouldn't move.   We were only going about 20mph but still be had slow down to a crawl until he noticed us.   I think he couldn't hear through his left ear or something.
