I live where katrina hit Florida. We were the first ones in the U.S. to be exposed to katrina. In my community, the road was just picked up out of the ground and the next few days people could not use that MAIN ROAD.

Yes we hear about many things in this backward country of ours. Some of our local restaurants had fund-raising sessions for Mississipi, as they did for 911.

I hear about such things even more because I have a mother-in-law, two sister-in-laws and various nieces and nephews in Florida.

But, why the sudden interest in a three year old hurricane? I'd look to the West if I were you, not to the past.

That depends on whether you are talking about the total amount of damage or what percentage of a city was wiped out. One might make the case that Biloxi got clobbered worse than the Big Easy.

I am talking about New Orleans itself. It (as a state itself) got the worst damage.

the reason they had a lot of damage but not the worst is because the mayor did not declare a state emergency.
We (mississippi that is) declared 3 days before it made landfall. New orleans did it 2 days after there levves broke
