Planes
« on: June 12, 2008, 10:33:10 »

I am sure this topic is out there somewhere. But how many of us have been on planes?

I go at least once a year on a 8+ hour flight. I have already been on two this year and am going on another one to Boston in 2 weeks.

Pictures? post them. I have some, somewhere, out to the left wing.

Feels funny when you lift off and land but in flight it feels like you are on the ground except for turbulence were then you feel like you are free-falling...

Agent, I get the distinct impression you're rich...:P

Yes, I've been on a couple of planes before. My favourite time was when I flew on the (at the time) brand new 777, literally the first one produced for commercial use (001). I remember being confused as to how hot the window seats were, compared to the isle seats. On the way home, we got upgraded to First Class though, which was truly amazing. I've also been on a DC-9 (and me knowing a lot about planes as well boats), it's fair to say I was absolutely terrified (poor safety record)!

Over here, I took an easyjet 737-200 down to London once, because it was only £5 more than the coach, and I didn't want to get stuck in traffic on the M25 for hours!

I have flown many many many times, flown to dubai and back 3 times, i fly at least 4 times (there and back) every year, and im gonna be off in a plan to Majorca in 2 or so weeks, im not the most genious photographer in the worlds so no pics will be comin back, but you must never fly with Ryanair, yeh cheap flights to anywhere in the world, cheap flights using people who have never flown before :), had a bit of an extreely rough landing with them, and the stewardess LIED to me, i asked for a coke, completely open trolley with 2 boxes of coke in it, she says no. Emirates do the best flights, you get tvs on every seat even in economy :), i want to visit the cockpit of a plane sometime.

I would not consider myself rich although we are definitely not struggling or poor. We just have money to do things that we want to do.

Household Income = Over $200,000

I have gone to Florida and back already. I am going to yakima and back this weekend in my dad's friends private plane (small). And then I am going to boston, taking the train to D.C. then coming back. :P that is like 30 hours of flying.

Hi,
the last three years, I was taking the plane every two months to reach my ship or go back home. Usually Marseille-Paris-Douala (Cameroun) or Lagos (Nigeria) or Luanda (Angola) and back.
But the worst travel I made was to get home from Gabon: Port-Gentil - Libreville - Douala - Paris - Marseille, four flights in 24 hours!

I have been on a airplane 8 times this year and I'm going to fly again atleast 2 times before the end of the year, because I have been operatet. I also went ti Iceland with my school class.
My longest flight ever was about 14 hours from Amsterdam to Montreal Canada. There was a blackout because of lightning. I also remember I was sitting right with the wing when a lightning hit the wing, many people were scared but nothing special happend.

I've been on planes many, many times. Mostly 737s...although I've been on plenty of Dash 8s and Embraer regional jets. I try to get in the cockpit to take a look as many times as a possible. Most of the time...they'll let you take a peak right when you board. I've also been in the captain's seat of the plane my dad flies...the Beechjet 400A. Whenever he gets to fly into the airport nearest my house, we always get to sit in his plane for a while, before his passengers get there. I've also been able to take control of a small Cessna, when I was 5 or 6. And my dad's gonna start giving me lessons soon. I'm hoping to get my pilots license in the next couple years ;D

Finally someone  who finally sees the cost that goes into buying a plane,  When I talk to my friends they say...
Boat:$5,000 Try $20,000+
Car:$25,000 Pretty close
Plane:$1,000 Maybe $200,000 or $21,000,000 for a small jet.

Now that is just a laugh. :)

P.S.  We co-own it with a friend (some how we end up paying for most of the mantenance though) and it is 100% payed for.
