A heated debate!

Please try to show some respect to the original developer of the Titanic model (even though he/she may not be reading this), and indeed to the VS community - VS has been around for a lot longer than SS, and has had comparatively little money spent on it.  Both products are aimed to slightly different parts of the market and you have to accept that.  Yes - SS is more realistic with improved graphics, but one cannot knock VS for having a simulator which has been successful, and around since 1999.  For many years, VS was the only good enough simulator to recreate being out at sea in real life!

James

Exactly my thoughts.

Show a little respect to the creator of VS Titanic and SS2008 Titanic people   >:(

Can't really dont see what is so bad with Sketchup... Her is a Titanic model a guy doing in sketchup, it's not ready, no lifeboat u see, and he gona make more detail, also the intrior!

Titanic!

Steern!

...

Until he figures out that it will be heavy for Virtual Sailor (especially) and that the model contain several unnecessary faces/polygons (very known problem when exporting 3D models from Sketchup to Virtual Sailor). I doubt that he will get it into VS when I see those smooth corners ::)

and any way i have vs and  is bad >:( you can't do half of the things you can do in ship simulator 2008 ;D

Edited for language, DJM.

That's what YOU think yes ::), you can have Battleships and Submarines in VS and shoot at each other. I would turn it this way, you can't do HALF the things in in Ship Simulator 2008 that you can do in Virtual Sailor 7 :P!

You can't see underwater in SS which you can in VS.

I have both Ship Simulator 2008 and Virtual Sailor 7 ::).

But DON'T try to rank VS down >:( >:D, because it's a good Boat Simulator as well and the graphics of the water for example is better than you think!

You can do tonnes more in VS!!!

Lower bridges that are blocking your ship
Change time in game
Change weather settings in game
Change and add boats in game
Tick one box and be able to capsize or sink your ship
Auto Pilot
In game naval warfare
Ability to create your own enviroments and ships
Go anywhere in the world
Go underwater
Use submersibles

I could go on and on and on, but i won't because  know how fussy some people can be in this topic........

Search the forum and we will find topics where these games have been discussed several times.
This is a Ship Simulator game forum and I guess it's made for Ship Simulator. Quick comparisons is not a good idea, it's like making a Xbox vs PS thread and such discussions are just silly. Respect peoples taste and get over it.  Finite! (wow how simple can it be huh.. ;))

While the tittle says VS: One of the worst virtual titanic models I've ever seen! I would simply talk to the modeler and suggest a improvement if he is interested. If not then it's as simple as stop using the add-on, get over it and move on. Beside most of the add-ons for VS is freeware and quick-rapid made ship models made within less than 3 months. Just a few add-ons have a longer development history. Asking for a Titanic model with same detail level as Titanic that is made for ShipSim is to ask a developer to addict himself to slavery behind a computer. If Titanic looks bad in VS it simply has a reason - the developer just made a simple Titanic without looking at it in a wider perspective. I don't blame him since it was his own choice.

Some don't want to put too much work and time in their add-on projects...and it's quite understandable when it comes to this ship.

The first advanced ship I will make for VS WILL be HEAVILY detailed, I will plan a WIP that will take 1-3 years to complete. But that's when I got more experience, then I will make a beautiful ship with high details, NO sharp corners, ONLY smooth nice curves :D.

I don't want anyone to misunderstand my post there, I wasn't criticising anyone for their posting :)

It was just a little tip to make things easier ;)

So i get told off for creating a 5 minut comparison? That's fair isn't it? Why don't YOU use the search the forum and fine many more comparisons, where the person who started them doesn't get a kicking for it  ;)

DJM, i think we'd all be better if someone locked this topic  ;)
