Guess, the RED JET 4 has no permission to leave the harbour under the conditions you would like to see her fighting with! Well, I´m asking the vessels master.. ;)

Nice videos Bottman!  8)

I wonder how dark the nightmissions are... I saw sturmfahrt had posted some screenshots on the German forum showing the containervessel by "night" but it seems to be more like dusk to me... :-\ In real life it is only possible to see a faintly silhouette and the lights until the other ship is really close to you...

Maybe Sturmfahrt has chosen an earlier hour, before it is real dark outside. You can prepare 24 hours round...

I´ve spend a look on it right now and you are right! Seems to be a shiny moon somewhere...

Yes it really does look like a bright moon is shining. Colours would be difficult to see in darkness but all colours of the ship are showing... The very thing that makes navigation at night challenging is the fact that you cannot see anything but the shiplights and buoys, so I really hope it will possible to make it darker than in those screenshots...

I just saw your night-video and it appears to be darker than the screenshots...  :D Great! Thanks for looking into it. Now we just need to dim the lights on the bridge...  ;)

Wow those bow splashes on the rpa12 goes to sea movie is beautiful, just wonderfull how you see it splash when youre inside the ship!

And that night vid, now that's what I call dark.

Is it possible that when you are in free sail mode to start off at daytime, lets say 12 o'clock. That you can sail till the night. Or maybe dock somewhere, and stay there and it gets darker everyytime?

And is it possible of setting the weather when you are playing? In the open sea

Hello Bottman,
Thank you for these nice videos.  :D
I saw (RPA12) that to set the rudder to starboard, one turns the handle clockwise, unlike the handle controls in Shipsim2006, and vice versa. Is it the same for all FU steering controls, or only for this ship?  :o

Those Were great Vidoes.
I read somewhere that you could tie up at the docks. If this is so do you think you could take a screenshot or something of it. I would thankfull
Thanks
Matt

Hi Luc,

the RPA12 is the only vessel with this steering device. I saw this earlier on vessels with Becker Rudder equipment and so it seems to be correct for me. Well it must be, as far as I know, the VSTEP crew was onbaord of that vessel in Rotterdam just when the development of SS08 and RPA12 started. So they´ve got pictures of it.

Cheers

Hiya :)

This post is off-topic.  There is already a topic covering System requirements for Ship Sim 2008 which can be found here, posting your question there would be more appropriate.

Regards.
