Cutty Sark repairs under way...
« on: November 22, 2007, 13:10:20 »

Looks like they're making good progress in rebuilding the Cutty Sark, according to a report out this week.

Now... we just need to find a country where it is safe to keep it  >:(

Stu,
I’m glad to hear that. She’s a beautiful ship. I was last aboard in ’69, and never complained about my accommodations after seeing what life was like for her crew.

How things have changed... When Cutty Sark was built, you would have been hanged for setting fire to a ship.

Don't bring her over here (to the US). Things are a bit... um, weird here as of late... ;)

Seriously, I'm thrilled to hear of the progress in her restoration. My heart sank when I first heard of the fire.

Hi Paintar03... I won't make ANY comment about deportation to Australia for convicts...  :o

I don't want to get political but crime is way out of control here now. I'm not advocating hanging for someone knicking a loaf from a shop, but setting fire to ships is just not on.

Hi Marc, I used to work in greenwich quite a lot and have been onboard. Quite interesting. I liked Greenwich. I don't want to go into my job then, but it was security based and I dont think this fire would have happened if we had been allowed to implement our proposal- they went for the cheap option. (the GDA that is, not the CST)

Don't bring her over here (to the US). Things are a bit... um, weird here as of late... ;)
Something like the lunatics running the asylum, or maybe the criminals running the prison... OR the passengers running the ship!  :D
